Agreed. It's been a long dead period. One thing is for sure though: CUSA is a strong league this year. Just worried all the teams beating each other up in conference will not reflect just how strong we are.

The depth is definitely improving. The top 6 teams are all solid. This is getting exciting for the conference.

I don't see how any of you rank unproven QBs. It's too important of a position. That means there are too many unknowns to do any logical rankings.

After watch last year game live against WKU and watching some more games of WKU, I think the toughest test for Tech will be against Rice. I think our DB's can really exploit Doughty like last year. I notice watching the game live that he really floats the ball.

It's Heinicke. And I'm a lot less worried about our offense than defense. We've got an experienced O-Line returning, good backfield and receivers. Bentley will really just have to be serviceable but I expect he'll do better than that.

I didn't get the memo I had to follow your exact template for preseason picks because zero magazines, media, coaches, etc have been wrong on preseason picks before...We get it La. Tech is unstoppable along with Marshall....Cato and Skol, ugh who cares right? Mine are based a lot on QBs and experience of QBs combined with other factors...Driskel and Diaz gone means you guys go down a little this season...College football is all about the QB!

That's reality for ODU. Yes, losing Heinicke is going to hurt but ODU is tied for 4th in the nation in fewest seniors and half our roster hasn't played a college game. We have one of the youngest teams in the country again. I have no problem with where ODU is projected because the team is an unknown.

Teams with new or unproven QBs: Marshall, La Tech, UTSA, Charlotte, UTEP, ODU, UNT. Very likely USM, IIRC (transfer). Anyone else I am missing? UTEP?

That's why I like WKU so much. They are going to have to play Arena ball to win, but they have the QB to do it.
