Cut to three schools, he's staying out west.

4* on 247. Younger brother of Tyler Johnson.

According to 247, his only offers are from Fresno State, Montana, Nevada, UCSB, St. Mary's, and Cincinnati. Seems odd for a 3-4 star. He has no offer from UCLA.

The way Alford has been recruiting, he might not get one either. Let's hope he wants to leave the west coast and try something new.

Love getting a pg in this class. Gives him a chance to learn behind Broome for a year before taking over.

Seems weird. But happy to get him. Hope they at least know what defense is out west. Who's the last kid from CA that Mick landed?

Edit: Found it...Jamaree Strickland from Oakland. Never saw any action. Redshirted 2013-14 and then transferred out.

The highlight reel I saw of him was about 80% of him dunking on people. He's got great athleticism for a PG. Hopefully he can also shoot and pass.

Other offers were from Santa Clara, Fresno St, Montana, Nevada, Utah St. So that should tell you how good he is.

I believe he did see action. I thought he transferred out early in his first season after sitting out.

Looks like a great 4 star pickup. Comments about Logan from his brother Tyler Johnson (of the Miami Heat) comparing the two indicate that Logan is an inferior shooter, but similar in terms of athletic ability, and superior in his feel for the game and basketball IQ. He seems like he will fit into our system very nicely as a PG... Mick just has to make sure he has good shooters around him to make a strong lineup. 04-cheers

Bolded, that's worrisome. I'm glad he's a Bearcat and hope he has a terrific career here. But I'll be eager to hear "the rest of the story" as Mountain View, CA isn't exactly a place that would produce players who would come to Cincinnati. And when you look at his offer list and schools where he expressed interest they're mostly in the far west. There must be a connection here somewhere.

RE: BB Class of 2018
Also, related to what NachoMan said, his offer list is very strange for a 4 star, Rivals150 recruit:

Cincinnati

Cal Poly

Colorado

Fresno State

Long Beach State

Montana

Nevada

Saint Mary's

Santa Clara

UC-Santa Barbara

Utah State

He reportedly also had interest from UCLA, but no offer.

Oh, I agree. I think it's all on Mick now to make sure Logan has plenty of options around him. Athleticism, "feel," and basketball IQ aside... we gotta have some people that can just plain put the ball in the hole.
