Chips on their way to being the dirty dozen
CMU Safety Brandon Greer was arrested this week on kidnapping charges. This makes 11 arrests of CMU players since 2011, one away from a dozen, and only a felony away from catching Florida State.

Something about spending the summer in Mt. Pleasant that drives urban kids over the edge.

Well, I got this all wrong. It wasn't just kidnapping, it was assault and kidnapping.

My apology 05-footinmouth

This is what happens when you hire Big Ten coaches, who bring Big Ten cultures, to MAC schools with higher standards.

Enos was/is scum and his program reflects it.

WMU has benefited greatly from Enos presence in Mount Pleasant. It will take Bono 3-4 years to clean-up the train-wreck.

I think Enos was a good person, but didn't have enough oversight in his program. He recruited some good players in his first couple of years, but really fell off when Fleck got in his backyard.

Bono may have more energy on the sidelines but has yet to show that he can recruit. Not a lot of commitments from kids with multiple offers, mostly just the single CMU offer

They have had murder, robbery and now kidnapping to their program profile. They do have depth up there and are consistent.

I'm going to pray that God wraps his loving arms around that assault-kidnapping victom and the family.

Someone needs a wake up call, that situation up there is getting a little tiresome. We want our rivals to be good opponents, not this garbage.

Every team goes through rough times now and again. This level of consistency with that is not acceptable.

Yeah, it is, but it isn't. We'd be lying to ourselves if there wasn't at least a certain part of it that we Liked -- that it's dirt on CMU and hurting their athletic image. :)

I'd find it more genuinely appalling emotionally if it was some team that wasn't a rival in any way.

You're right, there is that component of gloating at their troubles. But don't forget about the actual victim.

Realistically, at some point the water up there becomes polluted. At some point the fans become alienated. They don't want to be associated with the program. That is a serious problem for them. The fans and supporters can lose faith.

Slappies are now excusing their program by pointing out out that FSU hAs had 20 felonies commited since 2009, while the saintly Chips have only had 11 since 2011.

But come on, the Chips have killed someone, shouldn't that give them additional street cred?
