There is quite a bit of land at USA, but a good part of it is wetlands. My guess is it will wind up just south of the football practice facility in the land adjoining Old Shell Road.

The irregularly shaped lot between Pillichody and Graves may be a possibility as well, although I'm not sure it's large enough.

As Co Tenants of Ladd Peebles Stadium, we at Arkansas State heartily agree that a new football stadium is needed in Mobile.

In the "minorest" of ways perhaps.

Would you buy additional adjacent land, or is there enough land near the baseball park/

Yes, but it would be a squeeze. Or it could be located in the Hillsdale area near the football complex and practice fields.

That makes the most sense.

1. Four lane Cody Road from Airport to Ziegler Road

2. Cut Middle Ring Road through to Campus from Ziegler Road.

3. Finish four laning Ziegler Road between Athey Road and University Blvd

This way we can manage traffic on game days and as the campus grows into Hillsdale which the University mostly owns now.

But that would end the paradox of USA with a football team and no stadium and UTA with a stadium and no team...

"Thirdly, the land behind the football practice fields and field house is owned by the university. That spot would not require the reposition of fields, but would need road improvements for efficient access."

Great news for Jag fans everywhere.

I admit I haven't been to Ladd-Peebles in a long time. What sort of condition is it in nowadays?

She is still serviceable.

But she is what she is.
A 60+ year old stadium with a few new coats of paint and apathetic management.

If/When we get our OCS, I am going to miss her. But not that much.

Did you ever hear any estimates on this?

Yep. $75,000,000 total. Debt service for $60,000,000 of that amount. Projected operating revenue ranged from $5,782,723 in the first year to $6,875,635 in the 10th year. The ticket revenue portion was based on season ticket sales of 7,272 and single-game ticket sales of 16,060.

27 individuals and corporations made the five-year, $100,000 commitments for suites.

The bowl games will probably move to the new stadium. Does that include revenue from hosting the Senior Bowl and GoDaddy Bowl.

Of course not.
Why in the world would UAB have done projections that included the Senior Bowl and the GoDaddy Bowl?

Does this mean the end to Ladd???

I have always disliked the idea of bowl games at OCS's everywhere. I would hope they keep those games at Ladd and continue to improve that stadium. After all, high schools will still need a place to play.

I think the City needs Ladd for high school games. However, I doubt the two marquee events are going to want to use Ladd when there is a new, state-of-the-art (hopefully) facility ready for use just a few miles away.
