BTW, for some Big Ten schools the difference is almost $4,000 per year. I see a shake-out coming.

Go to collegedata.com, enter the school name and click on the highlighted name, put the cursor on the school name on the next page and select money matters from the drop down list. Look for other expenses under tuition and expenses.

Kent has by far the biggest COA at $4259, while Central Michigan is the lowest at $1170. Toledo is second highest.

So other than playing for B1G titles and National championships, it would be better to play for Kent State than OSU, MSU or UofM. Oh yeah their not including the illegal money given to those cheaters in the power 5 conferences.

BG students get less bang for their buck than Toledo students do with General Fees.

You know, we had the discussion in another thread about coaches having the "power" to force players out for whatever reason. When you have players basing their decision of where to attend based on money, I wonder whether an unintended consequence will be that higher paying programs will be reviewing their "payroll" and wondering why they are keeping poor performers on their rosters.

Back in the day schools would provide laundry money, after game meal money, and have an athlete training meal buffet table for breakfast and dinner. Amazingly at one school, it was set up in the dining hall for the women's quad.

In addition to being grounded for breaking team rules they can also have their allowance withheld. Kinda funny, but I'll bet it works.

A writer for cbssports.com has some ideas for things that should cost coaches money. He's kidding (I think) about some of them. But some (#4 and #5) seem like a good idea to me. Or at least worth talking about. And reading through the Beckman thread, I think many people posting here would agree with #3 on his list.
