I'm just going to post this here. It's an ACTUAL Sports Illustrated cover. App State has long been, and remains, "the next big thing."

This but there are too many jaded jealous fanatics on here. They see success and optimism, over the top or not, of others as almost as an insult to them. This conference is never going to change perception with occasional upsets. We need at team and or really multiple teams to sustain success for years. It will reach a point of no return on investment but this conference is not even close to worry about that. I want SBC teams to win every OOC game and really do not care who wins conf games unless it helps GS.

While I don't think Troy will be much better from last year, I like seeing their fans pumped about this season. I doubt App is going to be as good as everyone thinks but it is good to have them higher in the polls and not lower. I can't stand most of the vocal GaState fans but them being an out of control dumpster fire with no hope in sight actually hurts all of us.

Call me delusional too but Im not sure GS will always stay in the shadow of GT. "Winning" does great things for programs. That will be the question for GS IMO. If they can continue to win and beat many other good G5's and beat some good P5's who knows. Im just going on what I have witnessed over the past 30 years. I just dont see GS leveling out and not becoming more than just a good G5 program in the future. Maybe just wishful thinking.

It's not ridiculous if you define what sort of shadow you're talking about. I don't doubt that there was a time when it would have seemed like Boise St. would never be out of the shadow of Idaho. Academically, they still aren't, probably by just about any measure you can think of. Sports fans, though, might see things differently.

Of course, GT casts a pretty solid shadow, even athletically.

FIFY.

And thanks for that, by the way! 04-cheers

How can you be the next big thing when you're already a big thing? Have we not told you people that we're kind of a big deal? We know this.

Also, TWSS.

Well if that's the case, when will you actually get your turn to be the actual big thing, not the next big thing, or the big thing in waiting.

Yeah. Gonzo should have chosen his words better. He basically smacked his own team with his attempt to smack East Georgia.
