Now I will agree that yes noon games definitely hurt. Also not necessarily the home schedule, but THAT home schedule when you know you are going D1.

I'm expecting you guys to average over 15k this season. You have a pretty good home schedule and first year in FBS. Marshall game will def sell out.

That was the kids not showing. They got 7500 of the 15000 seats. The student allotment was reduced for 2015. Basically all the seats that have been empty in Charlotte football history can be blamed on the kids. The FSL holders show up.

I'd like to point out that the students average attendance of 4500ish put us above schools like UVA, Cincy, Chapel Hill, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oregon, Fresno, etc etc.

Filling up a 7500 seat student section woud put us on the field of UT, ASU, NCSU, heck even LSU/WVU averages 8.5k students a game.

It was poor planning or over optimisim that the AD expected our students to fill up 7.5k seats 6 times a season against FCS opponents at Noon kickoffs. If they were smart, limiting it to 4-5k at the start and making it a hot ticket would make the student section not only more passionate, but increase demand. Instead the perception is that you can get a ticket whenever you want (which will change since the student section has shrunk).

I love the factual basis of your post. I would like to give you some positive reputation for this, but see no button to do that. How does one give points?

I must be officially stupid because I do not see the link to leave points. Clicking on his name takes me to his profile, and I see three sections: Ninerfaithfull's Forum Info; Ninerfaithfull's Contact Details; and Additional Info About Ninerfaithfull. In Ninerfaithfull's Forum Info there is his Reputation score, with a link to Details, but that page does not seem to have any link to add points either. I do see links to add Ninerfaithful to my buddy/ignore lists, but that seems to be all that is there.

There should be a link next to the "details" for "rate". You may need to reach a certain post # to rate people and that's why you're not seeing it.

Do you see below his post on the left a blue square with a green plus sign on it? That's for repping a specific post.

Well there you go, I only have "PM" and "Find". Maybe a moderator can check a box somewhere and fix this?

maybe you don't have enough posts? Some sites have a threshold before you're able to give reputation to keep people from registering new names just to leave people bad reputation (yes, there are people that lame in the world).

All good points.

Demand for student tickets should go way up. Decreasing supply, and increasing the interest for the opponent at the same time.

I have to think you guys are going to expand after this season or the one after.

Just browsing our schedule and I would imagine the Presbyterian game ( first of the season), FAU (first night game), Temple (Friday night TV game), as well as Marshall and Souther Miss (reputations) should sell out with no problem. USTA might be a problem depending how badly we've been beaten on all season.

The administration has said in the past that they will let all students who show up in regardless of ticket. This is evident in 2013 as we drew over 16500 four times (stadium capacity is 15314).

I'd love for Charlotte to put 16,000 plus in all six home games and make expansion plans this offseason.

RE: Question for ODU and Charlotte fans.
Just under 14K for a program at Charlotte's stage of development isn't bad at all IMOHO.

Obviously, expanding as soon as reasonable should be a priority, but for the time being, 15K and full is a much better atmosphere than 15K with another 15K empty. There have been some games the last couple of years in Hattiesburg when I wished we didn't have an upper deck on both sides.

That's exactly the way to do it. Sell everything that can be sold and let the students go SRO as needed. Not that Charlotte needs the economic boost of visiting fans, but you'll develop a lot of local support from a lot of dollars being injected into the community around the stadium once your capacity allows for more visiting fans to attend, as well. Hell, if I were you guys you might consider developing a package that let's people go to a Charlotte game one day and a Panther game the next. Be a nice weekend trip.
