I like Cowherd, but he's said before that his job is not based on accuracy or breaking news.

Baylor is the least valuable program in the Big 12 outside of Iowa State. They would not get picked up by any P5.
Not convinced of that, but… okay. Let's say the SEC took WVU instead of Baylor, and everything else was the same. Then you're looking at leftovers of

Baylor
Iowa State
Kansas State
TCU
All of which I'd gladly swap out for 4 AAC programs every day and twice on Sunday.

Only TCU would survive after the p5 patches are removed.

Most of the AAC are pros at not surviving. We could easily coach those leftovers up.

That is exactly what the leftovers would look like.

TCU has a landing spot or they wouldn't be against expansion

You must be referring to the SEC, since TCU is about as desirable as an Atlantic Sun program, in the eyes of the ACC, B1G, and PAC.

Could TCU be partnered with Oklahoma to the SEC? Not utterly outside the bounds of plausibility, I suppose. But… very, very far from a sure thing, either.

TCU has no landing spot, but that DFW market would be mighty tasty to the SEC, ACC, and PAC

Only conference who comes to mind is the mwc.

I thought OU and OSU were tied at the hip due to state lawmakers et al?

No way do enough of the leftovers vote to disband. Perhaps TCU's landing spot is sitting back collecting checks for NCAA credits and exit fees and negotiated settlements.

I'm not convinced it pays to be a religious Private in any other conference but the Big 12. The Pac 12 is known to be against religious schools. It would be interesting to see which way that egg broke.

If that's true, what TCU really has is a crash-landing spot.

Conveniently, a Big 12 collapse would set up our own 16 team super conference quite nicely. Get it done, UT and OU.

Baylor
TCU
SMU
Houston
Kansas State
Tulsa
Tulane
Memphis

Iowa State
UCF
USF
UConn
ECU
Cincinnati
Temple
Navy

Memphis and Iowa State would have to change places.
