Didn't you enjoy ODU's recent games with Georgia Southern? Come on, they were great games on national tv...

I know I enjoyed them both; right up till the end. I attended both as well. We were at the same level then and we are now. I get that strong teams need to have some credability in scheduling in order to get the access bowl invite. I think both GSU and App. St. are currently good OOC games that do not hurt in that regard. What makes getting the AB bid so tough is that as hard as the AD tries to schedule to make it a possibility, a good portion of it comes down to lucky breaks as the scheduling is mostly done far into the future.

I apologize if my remark offended some. It was in regards to the Marshal poster who wanted to use the crash as the reason to why App owns Marshal in the series. It wasn't meant to make a joke of the crash itself. Marshal fans are trying to talk down to a program as if they are Division II, and then brought the tragedy into the discussion as a reason for the lopsided record.
Bit I digress. My apologies.

On a side note to ODU thinking they are too good to schedule SB teams.... LOL

I love GSU fans ...

glad they mostly stay on the SBC board but they say whats on their mind and just don't give a crap if it's PC (or the right thing to say) or not. This is one of those times.

Hope Western signs a home and home with GSU in the future...love to make that trip

Classless comment? Sure. But the PC and ban police need to chill out.

Actually, there's not a single Marshall fan post on the previous page of this thread, and a total of 3 Marshall posts on the previous three pages. I'd say Marshall fans aren't talking down as much as they just aren't really talking about it at all.

Hamrick shouldn't be surprised. The bottom line is that nobody cares about Appy State anymore in relation to Marshall sports. We are talking about ties that are only at the FCS Southern Conference level. The majority of those people that did care have since moved on or passed on. Like one poster said on another message board, I would have much rather seen Marshall schedule a game that has some benefit. If we are going to schedule a game with a Sunbelt team, schedule one that might benefit us in recruiting. I think doing a game with a Sunbelt Georgia school would have made more sense. Game with Appy makes no sense at all. Last time they were here they had maybe 300 fans that traveled to the game. Screw that.

Well, Georgia Southern could loose their entire team, coaches, and biggest donors and win consistently. Hell, your so impressive your students could win all your games as your school struggled with the decision to even continue. It's not like we had a bad game or our QB was injured. You have to be an idiot to not think it impacted our performance for at minimum a decade. Unfortunately, it's not reality. Our last game against App in the modern era was 50-17 Marshall.

That should have come long before now when they look at the last round of expansion.

You know the beauty of the entire thing? You absolutely hate that we are playing, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. It sticks in your crawl. It eats at you. You have five years to stew over it, and when you leave Boone on the short end of the scoreboard, you'll be even more angry. I'd like to say I can't wait, but I'll be patient. Because I know it will piss off folks like you even more.

See what happens when a couple of Marshall fans keep looking back at an old girlfriend? Move on...... Both sides.

Too much denial. BTW- never heard of App St, until they pulled an awesome upset in fball...But that's why it was so awesome..... Was not highly regarded.

I'm on a CUSA board to hear about CUSA sister schools. Not about my sister schools' former neighbors who knew..... Good Grief!

But if Marshall nation thinks I'm off, I'll yield.

Dreaming again aren't you little asswipe appy fan? I promise, we will not leave Boonie on the short end... Why don't you save your smack until Appy actually accomplishes something other than losing to Southern Mississippi.

Dear Memphis fan,
Since you hold this viewpoint, and since Memphis has significantly more history against Marshall in the last 20 years than Marshall has against Appy State, when is Memphis basketball signing a deal to come back to play in Huntington? Glad to see you have already self-eliminated the "not happening" answer...

LOL at you mocking some ECU fans for reacting negatively to playing Marshall and then posting this. You like to say ECU isn't "above" Marshall and we are all G5 schools, well so is App and you aren't above them. I could switch that around and it would perfectly relate to many ECU fans sentiments towards playing Marshall and you would throw a fit.
