UALR Rebranding
Getting new logo and "brand" on Wednesday. Very short notification. Guess we'll wait and see together.

The logo can't get much worse than their old one from the 90s-mid 200s

Pretty high tech logo for that time period!

RE: UALR Rebranding
They've been trying to rebrand as "Little Rock" for a while. Not sure if they have succeeded or not.

Will their rebranding effort include teaching students to spell Trojans?

They actually sent our chancellor a letter demanding we change our mascot when we made the move to FBS in 2001. Obviously we paid them no attention.

Why should we change. It only makes sense our mascot is Trojans. We are after all the real Troy.

Around that same time he also wanted to change Troys name to Alabama International University. Which was met with heavy opposition.

I think Little Rock would be great way to rebrand. Seems like a lot of schools are going that direction. Of course, UALR certainly isn't bad, and I'm sure it holds a lot of value to fans.

They want the Conference to call their athletic program the Arkansas Trojans.

I have no problem with that. Mainly because I'd love to sit back and watch Hogland boil over.

Like it!

Just long as they aren't the Maroon Wolves or Silver Wolves, or Gold Wolves (they aren't so sure about their school colors) I'm fine.

We are assuming (hoping) that is what it is, and maybe a new logo, although I like the old one. We do not like being known as "Weak Sister of Fayetteville," even if it is in an acronym. We know we won't be a statewide name, but we ought to be able to make some noise in our own hometown. The new AD is evidently willing to push to get a few things done.

Any chance we see Little Rock football anytime soon? Because that would be clutch.

Football would have to be approved by the University of Arkansas System board of trustees.

Considering the piglets still would love to make Astate disappear, something tells me this aint happening.
