Joe Delaney died 32 years ago today, while trying to save the lives of three drowning boys. Delaney couldn’t swim. That didn’t stop him from trying.

Lifelong Chiefs fan, and Joe is my all time favorite. My first NFL game was KC vs. Houston, in 1981, and Joe Delaney lit Houston up. After the game, Joe stayed out on the field and signed shirts, hats, programs, etc, for each member of our Pop Warner football team. Was just a real great guy. RIP Joe.
