2016 Class - Football
Yeah, more recruits doesn't necessarily mean a better class although I am happy with ours

right now we are fighting whether or not we land in the early fifties (best g5 but not that great for P5, or a top 20 class better than most p5) but funny enough our sorta touted qb recruit (who has offers from clemson, texas and ohio state) might be the reason we dont get the top 20...for most of the recruiting season everyone thought we were going to get a "at the time" local 3star qb..which most of us were excited about as he had asu, A&m & ucla offers (so he could obviously play), but more importantly he is best friends with a ton of the elite local recruits, and 1 already pledged to go to the same school as him (a top 100 elite 4star WR)...but he took his sweet time committing and we landed our current QB commit during that time (who at the time was rated way higher than him, but note he is from the dallas area and doesnt know any houston locals)..we then dropped from his favorite to not in his top 5..to add insult to injury, he has had the fastest growing stock of any player in the nation...he dominated the rivals camp and was one of the first qbs to get an elite 11 invite ...in 2 months he went from a lower ranked 3star to a elite level 4star top 150 recruit (the highest rated qb recruit in texas according to espn)..our 5star DL (who he is best friends with) has talked us back into his top 3 but it might to late.. everyone is saying he lands in florida, who are after him hard..

realistically: we lose our 4 star who wasnt that strong a commit, but round out with a ton of 3star to finish with a top 60 class a top the g5..

optimistically: florida, gets a different qb commit, suck in the season but their freshmen qb does good enough to secure the starting spot for some years ..the QB and WR land in Houston, those 2 alone likely put us the top 30, im certain atleast 2-3 more touted guys follow and we end up top 20..with the greatest g5 class ever :-D

SMU is currently ranked higher on rivals. I wouldn't count out UCF, usf, Cincinatti, or Boise State either. All have a chance to finish with a big class and land some big fish. A little too early to be declaring yourselves the best g5 class no matter what don't ya think lol? Historically, atleast for UCF, all of our high profile commits come between November and February.

we use 247 composites here mister..... (i find it funny you keep using the one site we arent destroying everyone in)

rivals for some reason has our 4star who has 60 offers including every major p5, an army all american and a top 50 prospect on every other site as an unranked 3star on theirs...

but like i noted i doubt he even stays committed usc and Michigan are after him hard, both harbaugh and usc's coach flew down to meet him personally, and UTreally wants him bad(but im not worried about texas)

also smu has 17 recruits ..we have 11.... when we get to 17 we'll be ranked higher

keep in mind if we literally dont sign any more touted guys and sign mid-low range 3 stars to finish our class we will likely still finish top 60.....that is higher than every g5 from last year

and we are in the running (have a real shot) a 4 other composite 4star..and 5 others that are rated a 4star by atleast 1 recruiting site

we are projected top 4 for this guy (he lead all junior in sacks last year)

and ucf has only ever had 1 composite 4 star sign out of high school and that was last year....(and Harris is the only other guy that was rateda 4star by atleast 1 site that i can think of that picked ucf)

Just an FYI by 247 ratings, if you lose your 4 star and 5 star, you are fourth in the league right now. Don't count your chickens. Lots could happen before signing day. FWIW I hope you hold on to both.

We've got 5 recruits, and 4 of them seem to be above average rating wise. More importantly though is where they are from, as 3 are from Florida (Miami and Tampa + elsewhere). Hopefully that continues and we can build fences around strategic Florida recruiting locations.

GOL is the worst. We'll probably have 17-18 signees again.

are you like 12 or something?

RE: 2016 Class - Football
UH and SMU are having some great battles in recruiting Texas, but UH has landed more high profile guys so far. Both schools should be consistently winning battles against lower level P5 teams, especially crappy B12 programs like Kansas, Tech, Iowa st, etc., with the occasional win against the real power teams in our state like TCU, Baylor, TAMU and UT.

Morris and Herman are upping the ante for sure. I love the fact that boh programs are actively trying to fence in talent from Houston and DFW

Congrats. You seem very proud of yourself. Maybe you can actually beat us now instead of coming up short. Oh and we'll see if you hang onto any of these early summertime commits

If your exhaustive search into UCF recruiting history went back...... say.... one more year, you'd find another 4* composite recruit.

But anyways, I like how our class is shaping up. We never load up on recruits early, I'm almost surprised we have 5 already. 4/5 are 84 or higher on composite ratings, which is nice to see.
