Pro Alums and CUSA Donations
OK. Western has a great BB player now with the Grizzlies making over 5 million a year. Has he donated a dime to his former university? Not picking on Hill Toppers. Courtney is just the first one to come to mind. Do any of our famous current or former pro athletic alums donate Money?

I'll get it started. Dewon Brazelton, former First Round draft choice of Tampa Bay Rays, gave a couple of hundred thousand to MT for Baseball Stadium renovations.

RE: Pro Alums and CUSA Donations
Kent Bazemore ATL Hawks donated a very generous amount for the new basketball facility ODU is building. Its the largest amount of donation received on a capital project said the university. Undisclosed amount and we are not aware of the exact dollar figure.

Pennington has donated big amounts to Marshall. Moss, Leftwich and Troy Brown have donated as well. Tamar Slay has donated to Basketball as has Mike D'Antoni. Jeff Montgomery has donated for Baseball. Many athletes have given back but Pennington seems to be the top giver.

Don't forget Karl Malone and the basketball court.

Karl Malone and Matt Stover have given a lot to Tech too. Bradshaw does a lot but he says his exes took all his money.

i'm pretty good friends with his dad. visited him in orlando last year and again in bg when they retired courtney lee's (pbuh) jersey this past season.

i asked him how he was doing with his money and he said "sheeit dahbeed....he still has money from his orlando contract". (first contract...drafted by orlando....long time ago)

in other words he's not one of a big entourage and knows how to hold on to his money. i have no idea what he's given back to the school.

when i read stories about big donations coming back to western it's some old guy with a western business degree that made it big and gives enough to get a building named after him.

We have had major, major gifts from former players, the kind that gets their name on a facility. However, they made their money in the real world, not the pros.
