Its a big luck of the draw on where you land and how you get used. Courtney Lee from WKU was the 24th pick I think and is now making around 5 million a year now. UK players was the big losers this year. The Harrison twins ....one went second round and the other not drafted and there was another not drafted also i think. If there is any doubt at all.........kids stay in school!

Courtney was the 22nd pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. This past season he made $5,450,000.00 with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Two years.

Tony Mitchell out of North Texas was the #37 pick by Detroit in the 2013 draft. UNT basketball had yet to compete in C-USA at that time, but I'd still count it.

We'll take Tony and toss back the Memphis guy. Higher pick, too.

Can't help it that Whiteside left after his freshman season, could have been a 2013 draft pick.

RE: Three years
What some on here don't know about Vince Hunter is his family's financial situation. He needed to turn pro whether it was in the NBA or overseas. He was very close to being drafted and still might make an NBA team. As far as his performance in CUSA he did come close to averaging a double double for the season. I do think he needed to stay one more year and improve his jump shot but he had family and outside people telling him that he was going to be drafted. Many publications had him going in the second round and he played great at the NBA combines in Chicago. He had better measurable than most of the other PF in the draft (Larry Nance) and out played many having a double double in the first game. Add to that the comments about his game at the Lebron James skills camp and you have a kid who believes he can make it. Hunter has singed a free agent deal with Philadelphia and still has a chance to make the team. Add to it that a dumb ass in our athletic department sent out a negative tweet about Vince during our NIT game and there is no wonder why he chose to leave. I personally think Jeff Darby should have been fired for sending out a public tweet from the UTEP Athletics twitter account to bash on one of our players.

I conclude that the AAC has a leg up on CUSA hoops-wise thanks to Memphis, Cincinatti and UCONN but football-wise the AAC is filled with a bunch of suck.

I saw that too, but when he was drafted, he was a Sun Belt player drafted, not a CUSA player. He played in the Sun Belt, not CUSA.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I get the impression some here think I am a Memphis fan. I live there, but am a UAB fan dating back to the beginning.

So your barbs against Memphis and the AAC mean nothing to me. It should be noted that the AAC had no one drafted this year either, and with the exception of two Uconn players last year (bolstered by the NCAA championship), had no one last year either.

How nice for them. I'm sure there's a message board somewhere that would be fascinated by that.
