Sellout is good. Respectable showing is better.

Man, that would be sweet. Imagine if you managed to beat Miami on national TV in front of a sold out crowd.

Respectable showing is not all THAT much if no one is there to see it...

The Canes are, certainly, beatable. I am not sure if they are beatable by this FAU team. In all honesty, I am not sure what this team can do this season.

We certainly have the athletes to compete with the Canes, we might be quite short on skill.

I must have missed this, but how did you get Miami to play at your stadium?

It was a home-and-away agreement a few years back. We played at their stadium in 2013, they are playing here in 2015. besides, it may almost be a home game for them, as well. After all, the schools' main campuses are only about 60 miles away from each other...

It was a 2-for-1 with the U. 2013 and 2016 in Dade, 2015 in Boca.

UM, FAU agree to 3 game series

To anyone worrying about The U taking over FAU's stadium you should actually look up how bad their attendance actually is.

Yes, UM's fandom is neither numerous nor particularly staunch. They do not travel well. But I do expect quite a few to show up in Boca. After all, Miami's exurbs (farthest suburbs) have now reached into the Southern Palm Beach County.

RE: FAU expects sellout against Miami after record ticket sales
I'm sure this was done in no small part to the relationship that Howard Schnellenberger has with both schools. Hes the farther or both programs. (FAU for certain, and most say for UM as well). Our field is named in his honor and Im sure he reached out to the AD down there about this. Actually as I recall the President of UM and the then president of FAU (Mary Jane Saunders) worked this out at a presidents meeting.

I am expecting more Orange and Green in the stands then Blue and Red, but that is the nature of the beast. A sellout will do wonders for the coffers and hopefully will show some of the local fans that they have a great CFB venue in their backyard that they may want to come back to.

RE: FAU expects sellout against Miami after record ticket sales
No way more orange and Green will be there.
1st as stated UM fan do not attend their own games.
Also individual tickets have not gone on sale yet.
Only season tickets holders have been able to purchase the extra.
I know some UM fans have bought cheap season tickets just to go to that game , but from what I gathered from my ticket guy is it still mostly FAU fans.
We will see what happen when the tickets start to be sold on the 2nd hand market.
FAU said they are up 153 percent in season tickets from last year.
We had about 4,500 season tickets last year, so around 10 k this year if 6k of those are FAU fans then throw in that 7,500 seats are students that about half already that is wearing the Blue and red.
If you split the rest between walkups I am expecting about 60-70 percent FAU.
Also throw in the fact it is a Friday night game that make sit hard for the avg Miami Dade CC college dropout canes fan to get off their Job and make the drive up.

Sounds like FAU could have a special atmosphere for this game. Hope the place is rocking.

I dearly hope your right. I had a co-worker buy 4 tickets using me as his season ticket rep. He's a cane fan and the 3 he are bringing are cane fans. I would love it if we outnumber them, however I think that wont be the case.
