(FAU for certain, and most say for UM as well). Our field is named in his honor and Im sure he reached out to the AD down there about this. Actually as I recall the President of UM and the then president of FAU (Mary Jane Saunders) worked this out at a presidents meeting.

I am expecting more Orange and Green in the stands then Blue and Red, but that is the nature of the beast. A sellout will do wonders for the coffers and hopefully will show some of the local fans that they have a great CFB venue in their backyard that they may want to come back to.

I always thought our colors are Navy Blue and French Silver? Or have they changed since I had graduated in 1996 and 2000?

Should easily be 2-1 FAU fans over 'canes fans, unless the FAU students scalp their tickets; then it might move to 50/50. Either way it'll be jammed and jumpin'.

I have heard from a lot of friends who have already gotten their tickets to the game. I fully expect UM to have at least half the crowd. I'll be there too! Go Canes!

RE: FAU expects sellout against Miami after record ticket sales
Not to sound like a downer against FAU fans but we (UM) high expectations this season. I think we'll get a big win - not because FAU is bad per se but we have a very potent offense and if the FAU defense is not much better than it was last year it will get ugly quick. I saw the MT vs FAU game last year and I know there's a lot of growing to do -- but I also know Miami has a tendency to somewhat falter against teams we shouldn't falter against.

And just a P.S., Miami fans travel very well. A few years back (2 or 3 I think) we had almost half the crowd at Ga Tech.

Its not really "travelling" if the drive is less than 45 minutes. FAU stadium is what 30 miles from where the canes play???

Actually, it would be more than an hour of real traffic time from UM's main campus to FAU's on-campus stadium.

Either way, it's not a Canes home game. And for whatever reason, that means demand will be a lot higher... Sad, but true.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahah at this God you U.M fans live in your own little world.
1st let me address you high expectations. You were a 6-7 ACC team who lost 8 players to the NFL. UM is not winning 6 games this year.
U.M "fans" think that just because they are DA U they will show up and out swag everyone to victories.
Well UM blew it's chance to be a national power for decades when their fans never stepped up put the pressure on the school and the city to build an on campus stadium back in the early 90's.
Now that every school in the country recruits in south Florida and kids don't want to play in an empty stadium, UM dies a little every year.
Living down here I find it funny that all you hear all day is "Fire Golden" ,but the Avg UM fans has never wrote a single check or even bought a season ticket in his life doesn't understand why the school can't pay to buy out Golden contract. 75 percent of UM's fan base couldn't find the actual campus if they tried.
Those fans though will make sure they have their "U has swag" shirts and scalp that ticket to the FSU game every year and start fights.

RE: FAU expects sellout against Miami after record ticket sales
It seems some in owlnation are staring the gift hourse in the mouth.

Quote:Last week the FAU athletic department issued a glowing press release touting a large increase in football ticket sales for the 2015 season, but it appears some in the athletic department may be embarrassed about the potentially low numbers behind the increase.

Quote:OwlAccess.com chose to hold off reporting the FAU ticket sales story until we could provide proper context. ....
FAU's athletic department delayed and delayed, before ultimately refusing on Monday our request for actual figures.

Maybe one of the FAU fans can speak to how reliable or relevant this guy's info is generally?

FAUOwlAccess: Meaningless numbers

This story is trash.
FAU doesn't need to give the numbers out.
Chuck King who runs this site is generally a very unlikable guy who act like a baby when he can not get his way.
FAU had around 4300 season tickets last year that has been out for months.
He just doesn't do any research.

I was part of the UM Dolphin (Charity)Fishing Tournament this past weekend and had a great time...met some good guys on that team and past players. Randal Hill is a class act. Wore my WKU hat and was surprised at the people who actually knew what the WKU stood for.

Still hope FAU kicks their butts

Are you talking about the numbers from the UAB report? It shows FAU with 4.5k season tickets in 2014... but it also shows FIU with 8.5k season tickets in the same year. I'm a diehard Panther and I'm sceptical of our number so do you believe some numbers from the report or question all? I could understand your guy wanting confirmation from the AD office.

Most people buy the season ticket package (FIU) because it's almost as cheap to buy season tickets than 2 games.

I get emails from FIU, FAU, Tech, ASU, ULL, Troy, USA and 4 or 5 other CUSA/SBC schools wanting to know if I want to renew my season tickets. I usually do the season tickets or a mini pack (3-4) than buy the single ticket away game through Western. It helps out each of our schools and I donate the tickets I don't use to the local boys and Girls club in that city. It's about $30/$50 higher than the single ticket at most schools...if you do the cheap tickets without a donation.

Then I just sit with the Western fans. The only down side was at FIU they have ushers that insist you sit in the seat on your ticket..Western had maybe 600 fans there at our last game and FIU 1000 counting the band. After I explained this to a FIU Asst AD the usher let me sit in the Western section.

Yeah, our ushers earn their keep, regardless of the crowd size. I remember some students wanting to go on the field after a win, they went to a pass protection formation on the gate lol.

When we have a team that is a big draw (Rutger etc) the AD sells only season tickets for that game and attendance requirements is ticked for the year.

Someone's a little jealous. We have some easy wins on the schedule including FAU, and I think we'll have 6 wins for sure. Last year's late season collapse prevented any respectable finish and I think the players just gave up at a point close to the end. That won't happen this year, especially not against FAU. The stadium isn't empty. If you had any sense of actually wanting to research that, you'd know those pictures that circulate are part of the hate ring around UM that is dedicated to purposefully trying to make us look bad. That famous picture everyone points to was a game against BC-U at noon in 100 degree heat 15 minutes before gametime. Honestly, who do you think would go to that game? All of your comments are nonsense and ignorant. UM fans are for the most part smart and a good number have in fact graduated from the university, tho most of those - myself included - live out of state. Enough of the UM hate. FAU has no room to talk. Whereas a good number of people respect UM in the Miami metro, FAU and FIU are seen as joke schools by not only the fans but the students and professors at UM. I'll let the football team do the talking on the field. Your 3-9 year last year against our 6-7, I think I'll take the 6-7 and the ACC. I was there when MT beat FAU in the Boro last year, and tho I think FAU has potential, Miami is just a lot better both in coaching and in skill positions. Realness.
