RE: Marshall VS. Appy State in 2021 and 2022
Marshall should win pretty easily.
Despite the fact that they outplayed us for 3 quarters last year, the sheer fact that we beat them means that they are not good or even close to being good. I hope they found a kicker.

Do you have any lottery numbers for 2021???
Do you know which current 12-16 year olds will be playing for both teams?

^^^ This. Anything more than saying that we are playing each other will be pure speculation and supposition... Who knows where our teams will be then.

Hell, maybe beating the likes of Southern Miss and Appy State will mean more than beating an FCS team at that point! Who knows!

RE: Marshall VS. Appy State in 2021 and 2022
Who knows? By 2021, USM could be on top of the league again... Not so much of a stretch, eh? All I am saying is that with the way college football fluctuates, App certainly has the potential to be pretty stiff competition...or perhaps, the wheels fall off of their wagon and the clock strikes midnight. Or, we lose Doc and get a coach who can't recruit and we go to the cellar....
2021 is too far off to speculate who will and won't be good. IMHO

It is far off, so who knows, but Marshall definitely would be the favorite now, or the next 3 years.

For the record the percentage of A-holes in a fanbase is much lower than the percent of fans that are a-holes that post on a message board, both our fanbases should be happy about that.
Actually, not at all. App clearly started this "battle". Hell, I used to pull for App to do well in football and pulled BIG TIME when you played Michigan the first time......no more, not after the crap I have read from the VAST majority of App fans over the last 5-6 years.

I'm not sure of your point for the next three years for a series in 2021.
If history repeats itself the favorite in this series doesn't always win anyway.

If you applied that theory you'd never pull for any team after reading message boards.
Both sides got nasty during this no doubt and both likely saw themselves as defending their school.
It's why the two programs should play most years in all sports, two fanbases with passionate fans. But really we shouldn't spend so much time ripping each other apart and work together against the evil empire about 2 hours north of you guys.

You're doing what I call "inventing drama". There's really not a whole lot to react to in this thread, so you're overreacting to get a rise.

Oooh Wake Forest. Pffft. One of the worst P5 teams over the last 3-5 years. They haven't poated a winning record since 2008. Plus they are in the same state. Makes sense for them to schedule Appy State in their OoC.
Look I like that this series is getting played but if you are using Wake Forest in examples for validation you are failing.

When it comes to Wake. I've long believed being in a power conference doesn't make you a power team.
Marshall, Boise State, Cincinnati, UCF, ECU, La Tech > Wake Forest, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Washington State, Colorado.
Probably more but you get the point. They should rename it "Rich Conferences and Rich Teams".
