I remember watching that game on TV and it didn't look full much less overflow (Kelly-Shorts capacity almost identical to Waldo).
Wasn't the weather bad for that game? I can't remember.
I still think we will have a sellout on our hands though. MSU is a top 10 team, WMU is fighting for a MACW championship. First game of the season, September 3rd...should be decent weather if it's not (knock on wood) raining. I think we'll see one of the best turnouts in recent memory.
30,200 (Waldo capacity)
- 7,000 (WMU student section)
- 5,000 (tickets to MSU)
- 4,100 (WMU season tickets purchased)
- 1,400 (MSU game tickets purchased by WMU season ticket holders)
= 12,700 tickets still available for the game
I'm sure we will sell some more season ticket packages, and others will purchase the three-game packages once they go on sale, but for those holding out for August 10 (when single-game tickets - specifically, the MSU game - are available), I'd say there's a good chance there still could be around 10K tickets still available when August 10 rolls around.

"Beauregard said selling general admission tickets for the hill area at Waldo Stadium remains a possibility, but a final decision has not yet been made."
If it's a sellout it's a no brainer that they'll sell GA tickets. My guess is that a decision will be made late, unless the game sells out fast.
