Last year I believe they put Tennessee around 90 and some other relatively good P5 teams below that. That's when I gave them no credibility. It's fun for the off season though I guess.

There will be many surprises, both good and bad, but ranking Arkansas at 70 is a complete joke. There will not be five G5 teams that could beat Arkansas this year. The Razorbacks will at the very least be a top 30 team this year.

They aren't all created equal. A consensus will be more accurate most of the time than individual rankings. This Orlando Sentinel ranking is particularly silly.

Obviously nobody knows the future . . . doesn't mean that there is zero value in preseason prognostications. Most are more "accurate" than a random list would be, for example.

(not by me....by the campus....by the university president)

i have no idea where we end up in this poll but some of the publications have us winning the east this year.

unrelated note: i've seen some closet love for the hawgs in this thread. they try to hide it but i've spent a lifetime detecting big blue fans amidst the western fans. i'm seeing some closet love from red woof fans i never thought i'd see. and it is delicious.
