Road Trip - GA Southern
Going to see if I can get one of these for the WMU game down there this fall. Southern football is in a whole different world.

Statesville is less than an hour from where I live, and I have 3 others going with me to see your game VS. Ga, Southern.

Southern football is a real passion for these folks, and there is a lot of HS talent down here.

RE: Road Trip - GA Southern
Hope anyone that comes down enjoys the trip. We're a pretty passionate fan base but are pretty accommodating to visitors. I recommend staying outside of Statesboro if you do come down as hotels in town book fast and are incredibly expensive. Flying into Savannah you land in Pooler (which is where I live) and it's a short 50 minute drive over to the boro. If anyone has any questions about the area I'll be more than happy to give you some advice.

See y'all on September 12th in the "Prettiest Little Stadium in America" 04-cheers

Those tailgate cabins are sweet. I'm guessing it wouldn't be kosher to burn the GA-Southern flag (like the Marshall one in our own territory) if I were to make the trip down there. :)

If you try and burn the GSU flag at the tailgate GSU fans may try and piss the fire out. Not a good idea when your full of moonshine at 190 proof. The highly flammable urine may run down your arm and cook the flag burner.

My dad recently came down to visit and stayed in a bed and breakfast in the historical district and loved it. Here is where he stayed: http://www.marshallhouse.com/

You'd be within 3 blocks of River Street (no open container policy) and most of the entertainment that Savannah has to offer.

Savannah's River Street. Plenty of Food and bars

Savannah's Market Street blocks away from River Street.

I'd check the hotel search sites for a deal. The closer to River Street the better because you can walk to most sites. Or save money and pick a hotel further out and drive in, but its not always easy to find parking.

GOOD pic - right in the middle of River Street and only 3 blocks to Market Street. Hope you got a good price. Have a good time!
