It's okay, but the fact is we have dominated series from a historical prospective and you benefited from our relationship more than any other football program. Personally I enjoy the series and our programs are stronger together and as I said you have caught up. In our conferences we are truly each others best rivals.

As am I, difference is, your facts are purposefully leaving out factors which paint the overall record in a vastly different light whereas mine includes the entirety of the information needed to grasp the reality of the series.

I have absolutely nothing against ECU, you're a great program that has provided great games, has a great history, and are stiff competition for UCF since our joining conferences together. All of that being said, your fanbase comes off as either ignorant of their own history or self-conscious about their recent history regarding UCF when you portray the series as 9-4 without mentioning the fact 4 of those wins were against a UCF team in a lower division. You're not a team that needs to stoop to such silly standards to garner respect for your program, so I'm not exactly sure why so many of your fans do exactly that. You're still leading the series regardless, why tarnish that with such stupid nonsense as including games in which you were granted institutional and regulated advantages over UCF due purely to do the division you were in at the time?

Wait a minute, are you sure 4 of those were against UCF as an FCS team. Hell we even played 1 of them on the road when you were FCS in 1991. The other was 1994.

Looks like you became FBS in 1996, so 4 would qualify as wins over a team from lower level. Granted 1996 operating with lower level recruits, but were 1-A that year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Carol...ll_rivalry

So you agree that a fully factual recording of the series would be 5-4 or 9-4 with mentioning the fact 4 of the games were against a UCF team in a lower division? Simply stating 9-4 is intentionally dishonest and paints the series in a wholly different light.

No it should be 6-4 using your metrics.

This is what was confusing me. 96 was our first year in D1, not sure how much weight we should put into that game either, but I wouldn't call out an ECU fan for counting that one among their record. It's just patently silly to consider the series as one long continuous string of games when there is a large difference between playing us while we were in a lower division and had less overall scholarships allowed.

FSU-Our chances of beating them are low, but on the bright side, they've lost everyone from their championship team and that defense is young enough that we could burn them if we successfully pull of some gadget plays or triple options.

UCF-seeing as you are our rivals now, that has to be #2. Most seasons #1

Maryland-I'm going to this game and it was close last year.

UConn-we've won 3 in a row in this series, despite being horrible. Would nice to make it 4-0.

Anyone we know we can beat-because wins are precious and we've had precious few to celebrate the past four years.

Fair enough, however minus one fluke hail mary ECU was 3-0 vs UCF in men's hoops, 1-0 in women's hoops, and 4-0 in baseball. Granted, football is the most important event, but minus some really backwards things happening in the last 2 minutes of that game, it's utter domination for the year in a league we didn't "belong".

The league, the first round of invites, then football only, etc.

Doesn't mean you don't belong anymore than it meant UCF didn't belong the year before we got in. Your skin has to be a little thicker than that.

Just curious. How did this thread turn into an ECU-UCF pissing contest?

An ECU fan made a dumb statement about 'dominating' the series. I corrected him. He then made up something about how ECU helped UCF by playing us when we were DII, and repeated himself despite me trying to explain how that had no bearing on the argument I was making.

It was sad on his part, and quite frankly on my own, because arguing with someone like that is like playing chess with a pigeon. He'll strut around, sh*t all over the board, and fly off to tell his friends how he won.

10/03/15 at Tulsa
10/08/15 vs. SMU
10/16/15 at Tulane

It's OOC and early in the year. Not a critical game, and there will be kinks getting worked out for both teams. It will be a challenge, but not nearly as important as any of the games I've highlighted.

I personally am not discounting SMU and Tulsa at all. With all three of us fielding new first time coaches, it important that we win those two games to give us a recruiting edge against them.

I am tired of almost beating UCF and losing to Cincinnati by a touchdown so those two are big for me.

Memphis is going to be the game for the top spot in the West.

I'm most looking forward to Eastbrook 85 v. UCF08.

Then after that, hope everyone who plays BYU beats their brains out.

I don't compete in the same division he does, to put it politely, his division involves more bowl cuts and high socks.

I look forward to playing first-time games with Navy (@ home) and Kansas (on the road - I'm making the trip). Also, although I have seen many games with Tulsa in my time, I will visit their stadium this season for the first time.
