looked for his mag today but couldn't find it. What did he predict for UCF. Steele is a pretty good prognasticator.

It looks like he doesn't see a whole lot of standouts on our team. It's a fair assessment given that our best players either left early or went to the NFL. Holman still has work to do but he isn't better than the Qb's listed.

One of the QB listed hasn't seen a starting snap in college...

I would have thought that you would have been more offended by the fact that your school's quarterback didn't at least make the 3rd or 4th team on offense.

Instead of picking the Temple quarterback who really isn't that bad; Steel chose the Navy quarterback for the 3rd team, even though that guy hardly ever throws; and then Steele picked the ECU quarterback for 4th team even though that guy never started a game and he only rarely played.

Not true. He played in some blowouts and during the bowl game, but he never started. Edit: I just realized that you mentioned starting snap, which is a true statement.

Apparently you didn't bother to read the part about what Phil Steele wrote. He wrote that. No ECU fan said that.

Now if you want to know something that is funny; Memphis went from worst to first in one year, by having a favorable schedule. So any team could win the AAC.

No I fully understand that Phil Steele said it. What ECU fans are doing is taking the word of exactly one person, and preaching it like its the gospel truth. I've Already seen ECU touting that they have the "4th best QB in the conference" with no mention of Steele to disclaim it.

It's a very similar situation when one media outlet threw in Shane Carden as a heisman contender last year. ECU fans were falling over themselves saying they had the best QB in the conference because he was a "dark horse contender"

No. Carden was the best quarterback in the conference last year, because he was the best quarterback in the conference last year.

"Carden was chosen as the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year after he finished the regular season as the American Athletic Conference leader in passing yards (359.1 yards per game). He threw for a conference-record 4,309 yards with 28 touchdowns against eight interceptions and completed 65 percent of his passes (358 of 551). He threw for at least 300 yards nine times in 12 games and had five games with at least 400 passing yards. Carden was a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and enters the postseason as East Carolina's career leader in passing yards (10,829), attempts (1,424), completions (954), touchdown passes (77) and total offense (11,098 yards)."

I find it funny that Steele has up to 12 Tulsa players on the first and second teams and other lists have Tulsa last in our division. Just goes to show how much opinion can change from one person to another!

Yea I think people are really underestimating the cupboard that Tulsa has on offense and defense due to the ineptitude of last year's coaching staff.

First two have already been disproven, or whatever the correct term would be

The last one is acceptable because it is acceptable for UCF who lost more to be picked

Besides it seems we only have had one Tom Brady to roll out

has Jackson Dillon on 3rd team defense as a defensive lineman? I'm sure his position (linebacker) coach would be surprised...

What does it say about AAC QBs when an unproven commodity like Benkurt is the fourth framer?

Not hating, and I hope Steele is right... I'm just surprised, that's all.

I don't think Kiel will be 1st team. Lynch is a gamer. I think he'll turn out to be the better pro prospect too.

w'll know after this year...I STILL don't think Lynch has really hit his stride just yet.
This year he has a complete offense around him...and he should feel pretty comfortable leading it by now.
I worry about our BACKUP position. I realize that the backups may get reps in practice...but they also need game experience at some point.
I'm not quite sure what to expect from our backup QBs.

Lynch really impressed me against BYU. He's a big guy but he's not a statue. I also don't see fear in him. If he hasn't hit his stride yet, I see first round potential there.
