CUSA went 0 for 3 today.

True, but they still got 3 in

Well 2 with an upset in the conference tourney. Still, FAU and Rice were Top 25 teams most of the year, got to be disappointing for both to be facing elimination today, even if I see no way FAU loses to FAMU.

Shocking news to report...Its raining in Texas! HBU and Rice are in the 4th inning and a lengthy rain delay. Not sure if the Cajuns will get in tonight or not.

I think you mean Houston. My guess is that you guys would prefer not playing Rice tomorrow...

Rice and HBU were suspended mid game. That has to be finished first.

CC, does this extra time help us at all from a rest standpoint? I also never asked how we came out of that first game pitcher-wise. That's to say, did we use more pitchers than Robe would have liked?

Finally, time to update your sigline.04-cheers

Generally speaking, a rain out gives the 2-0 team a significant advantage. Winner of your game with Houston tomorrow gets the rest of the day off. Loser has to turn around and play a game about an hour later against the HBU/Rice winner, and then turn around and win 2 games the next day as well.

Generally speaking, Coach Rob would rather not have his team sitting around the hotel and waiting to play ball. While the rest is good, when you win like they did yesterday you want to get out there and play again. There is something to be said about losing momentum and staying focused. We will what happens tomorrow, he can now go with Leger or Guillory against Houston.

I didn't think about getting Leger an extra day of rest. That's a help for sure.

Nobody really wants to spend more time in Houston than they have to. Doubly worse is being in a hotel room in Houston. I speak from experience.

I always liked Houston. Had an apartment at 9900 Memorial for years so I could avoid looking for a hotel every time I was in the city, which was obviously often. Plenty of good restaurants and I generally found the SW side of town to be fairly safe. Of course, that was in the late 90's, might be quite different now.

New Orleans got so dangerous that most of my customers left the city and the West Bank and headed for Houston.

The plan all along was to pitch Leger on Sunday. If we went 2 and out in the regional, Leger would have never pitched. Robe was not going to pitch him on short rest coming into this weekend after pitching him on short rest last weekend. It's just his philosophy.
Although it is now interesting that Leger has an opportunity to start against UH, when he was never intended to be in that role after the game on Friday.

There are several coaches in this league who would have thrown Leger on Friday. Full credit to Robicheaux for doing the right thing...

Cajuns will face a fresh good arm in Houston today regardless we need to focus on the Cajuns and the Cougs. Rice IMO is in dire position, having only a small lead vs HBU and having pitched at least half a game vs them that pitcher is gone, and another good one will have to pitch today.

Guess I'm just not a city type of gal. I grew up 22 miles from Philadelphia but avoided it as much as possible (except baseball games, zoo, Franklin Institute, Independence Mall type stuff). Lived outside of Austin for 32 years (the city did start to infringe on us after about 10) but we rarely went down into the city proper for anything other than events of some sort or Barton Springs. Hated NYC. I can count how many times I've been there on one hand. I loathed going onto UH's campus. Fortunately I was always with a group. Otherwise I wouldn't be caught there for a million bucks. I have had extended stays in Houston but was always with family. I just felt uncomfortable being there. Rather skirt it and go stay in Galveston. I was fine when I stayed with a friend but she lives out near Cy Fair on Granite Ridge.
