Depends on what exactly UAB chooses to do, but it would likely delay the decision for sure. CUSA has struggled to find votes for expansion without UAB, I can't see them jumping for more with them.

Yeah, CUSA will not be expanding if UAB sticks around. They don't need to fill out the map or anything of that nature. They have 14 mouths to feed as is, why go to 15 or 16 when 12 is the prime number?

If UAB gets to stay in CUSA, the Sun Belt is safe until the next round of realignment. No need for anybody to pimp out their services to other conferences.

If the UA BoT changes direction, this will be the second time in about 5 years they have tried to kill a sport at one of the other campus' and failed. They had the same result when trying to kill hockey at UA-Huntsville a few years ago. Public outcry and they changed direction. I personally found the decision to kill hockey was due to the fact that Bama now has a club team and I though they may be trying to move to full DI, although that never happened. You would have thought they would have learned from that experience on how to properly kill a program, but they are just not that smart.
