cajun alumni association usually rents one of the decks out there when they play and its actually kinda cool to see them having fun.
We did that a couple years ago, when they were first built and had a blast. We boiled about 250 lbs of crawfish back there and they even reserved us 1 of the decks for the whole weekend.
I wish there was a way we could get these party decks under the pine trees at The Tigue. I'd be camped out under there for every game I could attend.
It would be cool but would have to be controlled other wise we would end up with zydeco bands in left field and so much smoke from the pits the umps would have to call time during the game. Would be cool to rent it/them out for game/series.
Would definitely have to be monitored. As far as food and pits, I suppose you could do like Ole Miss and The Grove. No pits allowed so they bring prepared food on warmers. For our case, you could cook before the game outside the stadium and have a serving table on the party deck. You would almost have to allow outside food for those areas in the outfield, as it would be a long trek to the front of the stadium for food and drink.
Or contract with two or three local restaurants of different cuisines for a "Tailgate Menu' where you just select your amount of attendees and sell them as a package with the deck rentals with an additional few dollars for the team. You'd just have to have a minimum order time. Tailgating at the Tigue.......No muss............No fuss.

You always say stuff like this but it's simply all hypothetical and probably not true. In 2013 you had 3 home games against USM, 3 against USA, and 1 home game each against Auburn, UAB, and Jacksonville State. You also were co-champions that season. Your home attendance was actually less than this year. So you can't assume if you had USA's schedule you would "be #2". There is no basis to make that claim. USA's 4 year average is 1482 and Troy's is 1141. Your attendance is good; let's leave it at that.

Perhaps, but lets be honest here. UAB, JSU, USA or USM are not the big draw name teams you played at home this year. none of those 4 bring anymore fans than any other SBC game.
We did play Auburn in 2013 and it was a chilly night in March with a announced attendance of 1,630 people with our 2,000 seat stadium. Thats not counting people in left field.
Had we all the SEC teams you had at home this year our numbers would very likely be higher, its all about name recognition and thats what SEC teams bring. thats 4 SEC teams on your schedule that would have likely brought 1500+ in Troys stadium.
I never stated we would be #2 as a fact, but my opinion and it was a "guess". But yes our numbers are good.

RE: SBC Baseball Attendance
I'll agree with AT that our numbers are disappointing considering our home slate this year, his assertion about Troys #s not-withstanding.
Sometimes I think the Bay Bears have a substantial impact on our attendance but I have no basis for that claim.

I went to the MSU and Alabama games because the weather was warm. I didn't go to the Auburn game because it was cold (it got down to freezing that night), windy, and drizzly. The Arkansas game was a little warmer 4 days later, but I couldn't make it. We had a little less than 2,000 for Auburn, which was disappointing, but I'm sure there are many others like me that didn't want to deal with the weather. Alabama had played a 3-game series in Mobile at Hank Aaron Stadium prior to our game which took away some of the excitement. MSU was or biggest draw.

Just ate Deano's earlier and now you're making me hungry for some of those other places!! Lol
But not following on the beer distributors. Crescent Crown and Schilling are two different distributors. CC's main domestics are Miller and Coors and they carry Abita and Nola as locals. Schillings main domestics are Anheiser Busch but they carry a more expansive local offering because they have Parish, LA31, Tin Roof, Chafunkta, Covington, and Gnarly Barley. Each have their own additional craft and import brands. I think the local craft beer booth at The Tigue is all Schilling distributed beer. I've had to order kegs for a few parties over the last few months, and I personally like to work with Schilling over CC.

Sorry, looked online and it appeared Crown was in the same location where I remembered Schilling used to be.
