RE: AAC Loses 45% of Revenue
Basically its an all sports conference cup. Problem is not all schools compete in all sponsored SBC sports and some schools have teams in sports not sponsored by the SBC. It helps out schools that don't compete in football and focus on non-revenue sports (it seemed if you did really well in track and field you got a lot of points). IF GS ever did win it we would hold it over everyone's head a claim to be the greatest SBC team ever. But since GS will likely never win the all sports cup, we will be perfectly content to win conference championships in individual sports that matter to GS.

I would rather have UL-L championships last year than win the Bubas Cup.

The fact that you can have the absolute monster year UL had last year and still finish 4th tells me all I need to know about the Bubas.

no doubt. UL finishes first in football, basketball, and baseball, and doesn't finish top 3. lol. it's a joke

Joke? So you want the Bubas Cup to be about the money sports not top Athletic Department. Gotcha. The Cajuns finsih top in three of the 17 sports so its theirs?

Here's an idea. Have a good all-around athletic department where all sports do well and get an award for it...

Oh wait, it's called the Bubas Cup.

Proof that level-headed Georgia Southern posters do exist.

Yes UTA does well in track and field. But we finished in the top half of every sport we competed in minus baseball and softball (which is ironic as they are historically two very good sports for us). We had a great year and is reflected.

UALR meanwhile doesn't have football and they finish in the bottom half every year. Its not like not having football is an advantage.

Cool if that's what you want. No one is faulting you. That's not what all-sports standings are for. All-sports, not some or money sports. Tell the coaches and athletes in the other sports their contributions don't mean anything.

they don't mean anything in terms of contributing money to the school.

Cool, tell em that personally, not as an anon internet poster. UTA seems to be doing fine without it, but whatever, 9th place athletic department supporter.

It's ok we are all happy for UTA's overall program and we would be happy if our non-revenue sports did well also. But most of us follow the big three (Football, Basketball & Baseball) and there's were we want to dominate. BTW when is UTA's massively effective athletic department going to get off it's butt and get football started?

Step five in the process, women's golf begins in 2017. Sometime after or when soccer is announced...

Impressive, trying to get more teams to lock down the coveted Bubas Cup.

Are the new teams being added to prepare for a football teams?

I see that Ga St got more recognition for Basketball than you did for football. Is that why the announcers kept saying that Ga ST was the champion of SBC football?

Officially, no.

Unofficially...Is there another reason to add Women's Golf when you are in compliance with NCAA and conference sport sponsorship numbers and Title IX is already more than met?

EDIT: Longer analysis here, http://www.themaverickrambler.blogspot.c...o-uta.html

Terribly made jab to deflecting the point I was making.

Reporters getting G5 teams wrong?

Also you were the champion of neither.... so....

RE: AAC Loses 45% of Revenue
The AAC was undervalued when ESPN picked up the tv and revenue contract. Cincy, UCONN, USF, Memphis, UCF and ECU offer some nice value in terms of income. I expect for the new AAC contract(2020) to have an uptick in revenue for the teams.

When the AAC signed their deal with ESPN, the conference was in real trouble with no stability history. AAC basketball and many AAC football matchups as well as Bowl games have proved to be good ratings gainers for ESPN. No one is looking at Big East money, but the 4-5 million range is not out of the question.

Quoting this just point out that, per the writer, UTA might be angling itself to add football.
