RE: Mohajir on SBC Spring Meetings/Expansion
The Belt don't need no stinkin' new teams. Have the Sheriff's department deliver a notice to Idaho, add NMSU all sports and be done with it for now.

They also have $100 million larger endowment.
they are both cheesey school wise, but I have to admit ccu seems willing to spend the money. their stadium is really small (9400 ) but nice. all their other facilities are top shelf. they are a small regional school and dont offer much..67 bachelor 8 master and only 1 phd field. not very impressive compared to most of the sbc schools. but yes, they do have a football team.

Adding a 6th FBS team would be pretty crazy considering our population. If you divided the state population by the number of FBS teams in that state then Alabama would be second lowest (second only to Wyoming, which only has 1 FBS team but has a very small population).
To put it in perspective, California, the most populous state with 34 million more people than Alabama, only has 7 FBS teams. Plus JSU would be a tough sell to our league. If UAB didn't return, and there was only one Alabama school in this league, then they would have a chance. Unfortunately for them, I don't see them getting the chance as things current stand.

Wait... We are at 11/11 now.

So, adding NMSU all sports makes us 11/12, right? Or what am I missing?

12 Football 12 Basketball
Idaho and UMass for a couple years then replace them with 2 full members, then you would be 12 Football and 14 Basketball..
My first choice would be Mo State, not sure about the other...

Another option for 2019 would be that UTA adds football and UALR moves to another conference.. ULM moves East, we become just a football conference with 12 and 12....

It has been said on here that CCU presented to the SBC for adding them. Has Missouri St done the same or have they even shown interest???

If we are going on who shows interest then it is...
1) Liberty
2) Liberty
3) EKU
4) Others

Lamar would be a better fit than New Mexico State.
Here was former Sun Belt members not in another FBS conference.
Lamar is interested in joining.
Jacksonville, would be interested to get out of the Pioneer League?
Affiliates:Hartwick D3
Howard MEAC
Only Lamar could make the move, and they are better fit in the Sun Belt then New Mexico State. New Mexico State would be first in to replace UTEP when they move to MWC.

That gets you to to the 11/12. Good for Olympics, not good for football.
Then, you add TWO teams all sports when they are ready (Missouri State, EKU, CC... Pick two) and show Idaho the door at that point. Then you get the 12/14.
Missouri State
It takes 2 to tango... Missouri State has to want to join.
