RE: TSN MAC-West Predictions
I wouldn't ha e picked WMU for first. Playing at both NIU and Toledo will lead to at least one loss and when the top spot may well come down to tie breakers, I don't think WMU will get it.

RE: TSN MAC-West Predictions
If you're going to win a trophy-be an "elite" program you've got to beat the good teams in their own stadiums. NIU and Toledo have done it to us.

Got the opportunity to do so this year.

RE: TSN MAC-West Predictions
I think Athlon nailed the MAC West, but I'm not picking BGSU out of the East. It is much easier for a surprise team to progress and climb to the top of the East. To me, if Toledo stays healthy, they are a monster, and NIU is steadily great.

I think the prediction is realistic for our schedule. As per the bowl game, ANYWHERE except Idaho-again. Been there, done that-don't need to do it again.

You are underestimating our HC, your alum, who had he not passed on being OC under Doeren to go to NFL with Schiano for a year, might be yours now.

Losing to CMU at home then it was a big 3 point win over the Rockets in DeKalb with a WR at QB and the Rockets missing the MAC Player of the Year. At the Boca Raton Bowl, I watched NIU dominated by a talented Marshall team. A decent season for the Huskies but not one to be real cocky about.

Last year was a rebuilding year and we still won the MAC....

NIU brings back basically everyone this season so we will only be better. It'll be between NIU & Toledo for like always. WMU has to beat both of them on the road this season so that'll be tough.

I just think it's funny that the team who's represented the MAC West for five straight seasons still gets barely any respect even though there is no indication of them slowing down this season. And this is no disrespect to Toledo and WMU because they are both solid squads who are definitely in the MAC West contention this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ball St up there either as well.

There was a number of individuals that frequent the CSNBBS Boards that believed that Toledo would be down last season losing Owens, Fluellen, and Reedy. So I guess you could say it was a rebuilding year for WMU and UT also.

It's like being in the NBA's Western Conference.

None of those players were as big of a loss as Lynch was for NIU's offense.

P.S....That WR at QB was much better than your starting QB for that game.

Toledo will be the big hurdle. NIU is more than winnable, in fact if we're healthy I predict a lopsided win for us.

Top teams in the MAC in order
UT
WMU
BG
NIU

RE: TSN MAC-West Predictions
My Pics for chances of winning the West:
1. Toledo
2. NIU (has WMU at home gives them the edge)
3. WMU
4. BSU (who could be a sleeper for 2nd or 3rd; you heard it here first)
5. CMU
6. EMU (real test season for EMU's 2nd-year coach to possibly be only 2nd to last; EMU would rejoice as if they won national championship)
