I worked many sand volleyball matches/tournaments when I was at FSU. Other than the fact that it is by far the hardest sport to work, it was a lot of fun and the views are fantastic.

I guess this sport is mostly about title XI. It allows schools to bring in a women's sport without having to break the bank with a facility to house it. I doubt ECU will need to do this since we have a natatorium for women's swimming.

I can see a profit in it for some reason. Maybe sell cold beer too.

It does require a facility if you're not close to a beach. Tulane built a sand court on campus, and the team uses a nearby beach volleyball club with multiple courts for matches.

We have those Beach/Sand courts at NCC don't we? Just practice and hold matches there! Would just need to have some temp seating most likely. Hell if we wanted we are only an hour or so away from some great beaches to host some matches. Imagine a weekend invitational at the OBX or in the Wilmington area (if UNC-W fields a team maybe co-host it with them).

Sure...but it is very inexpensive sport to field to satisfy title 9 requirements. That was my point.

I'm not against it. I just doubt we are going to start another women's sport now. scholarships money for non revenue sports are already stretched as it is.
