RE: Stewart gone..
Not really, especially considering he still seemed to be a couple steps down the depth chart.

I wish him nothing but the best. Hard to believe the impact he had on helping to change the culture without taking a snap

More proof positive that "Stars" and recruiting rankings don't mean doo-doo.

Good luck to the young man, hope he finds success and happiness.

granted, I haven't seen him play, but I believe he has the talent. Timing is everything, and his arrival provided the spark Zach needed.

RE: Stewart gone..
He has talent but moving up to the college level proved a little more difficult than many thought it would be for him, myself included. And Terrell became red hot at the same time. So he kinda stumbled through the depth chart and was now being passed by Flacco who just showed up. Sad, but it happens. He's a nice, talented kid and he'll land somewhere where he can get some playing time. Wish him the best.

RE: Stewart gone..
No surprise.

He just wasn't picking up the system well, and locked onto his first target far too often. Amazing arm, but that isn't enough at this level.

I hope he lights it up in DII and has a great college career. Great kid, genuinely a nice guy.

I called it last fall. Said he would never take a snap at QB for WMU. Terrell has to solid seasons as starter with 2 to go. And Wassink is a better player.

His little brothers arm is better. Kid throws clothesline all over the field. Just isn't as big as Chance.

Hope he finds a spot where he gets an opportunity. He's gonna end up getting that shot a long way from his original commitment to Wisconsin.

Very sorry to see you go, Chance, and wish you the best.

You have always carried yourself with dignity. You will be missed.

.... but enough of that....throw a ton of touchdowns wherever you land.

RE: Stewart gone..
Cullen Finerty was a 4th string QB at UT, transferred and became a star at GVSU.

A coach here once told me the difference between the first and third team guys is often hard to measure, but once you pick a starter, experience and PT makes it much clearer.

Pretty much every QB who left here and started elsewhere became very good. I would have liked to see him a few times during a game. Cary threw his back ups in a few times during non blowout games just to see what they had under game conditions. Granted Terrell didn't give any reason to expirement, but I wish he had.

What's GVSU's QB situation look like? Bet money he ends up there, or Ferris.

To me, Chance will always be a Bronco, and I will, as many other Bronco fans will, be cheering him on wherever he goes.

RE: Stewart gone..
I can understand him leaving if he thought the writing was on the wall and he would never be the starting QB here. Having said that, you never know what will happen in any given season when/if injuries begin to mount. Look at last season - Toledo was down to their 4th-string converted WR at QB in their biggest game of the year at NIU, and Ohio State won the national championship with a 3rd-string QB (albeit a very talented one).

With two Top 10 teams looming, my main hope is that we make it through September with a minimal amount of serious injuries heading into conference play. Stewart's decision to transfer makes it that much more important that we stay healthy at the QB position.

Rockets were without the MAC POY along with having to play the WR at QB
against NIU. UT was without the services of its #1 QB and Kareem Hunt against CMU and the Broncos.

Not Ferris, they run way too much option for him.

I hope Chance doesn't drop all the way to D2.

RE: Stewart gone..
Andrew Maxwell and Keith Nichols were both 4 Star "can't miss" QBs coming out of HS, and were both busts at MSU. Like Stewart they had all the combine measuables. Big arm, can make the throws, D1 size, and a reasonable motion. But when 11 D1 players were in their faces those measurables suffered.

Cook and Cousins each had 1 D1 offer (BG AND WMU). Maxwell, Nichols, and Stewart had dozens. Terrell had two. Say what you will about BC the guy had an eye for QB talent

RE: Stewart gone..
Even though he isn't part of the team anymore, he had A LOT to do with helping to bring kids to WMU in that 2014 recruiting class. Lot's of impact players that might not have come here otherwise. He was just as much part of our recruiting success (short-term and long-term) as Fleck was IMO. Like others have said, he'll always be a Bronco for the part he played. Wish him the best of luck.
