RE: Football - Toledo vs Kentucky
Here's a link to a story about the Kentucky-Southern Mississippi home-and-home. Looks like both Kentucky and Southern Miss will play Austin Peay in 2016. And also according to the story, as of today UK still needs a game in 2016.

Southern miss deserves a 1-1 but Toledo couldnt? What a joke. Its kentucky and this schedule move by them proves that.

Lame. New Mexico State. A team that has barely registered a win as of late.

But it looks like mediocre Power 5 teams are scheduling them.

Minnesota, Kentucky. Texas A&M has come back to earth, Florida is a spiral.

Since Kentucky pulled three recruits out of Northwest Ohio, we should use that as a bargaining chip to negotiate a series.

UK loading up with cupcakes in non-conference, hoping to get bowl eligible, as they know SEC wins will be few and far between.

A couple wins from the Bluegrass state would be fun, but Toledo should stick with the stronger SEC programs. Kentucky football is like a possum. They play dead at home, and get killed on the road. 03-wink

Talking about Kentucky schools, I'd like to see UT do a 1-1 with Louisville.

Similar to the Kentucky proposal, it'd be a 2-1 if they got in with Louisville.

I agree. Getting in 1-1 with good mid majors would help the program. They would be more legit than the guaranteed wins against FCS teams and money grabs at major conference teams. I really like the arrangements made with Arkansas State, Tulsa, Nevada, and Fresno and I hope the team keeps aiming for those types of games.

Why? 1-1 with "the U", BYU, Mizzou, etc.

RE: Football - Toledo vs Kentucky
I'll be surprised if the 1-1 with Miami ends up being 1-1. Miami still has three years to buy its way out of it.

BYU is desperate for games against FBS teams to fill its independent schedule. Getting an opponent of Toledo's caliber is a pretty good deal for them as they try to plug gaps in the schedule. It's getting tougher and tougher for independents to do that, and the opportunity for guaranteed games is a big reason (along with money) that Notre Dame is in the ACC partnership.

UT got a steal with the Missouri deal. I doubt the SEC would want that deal to go down now.

Steele's Top 40 has Louisville #37 and UT#35. Kentucky just cupcaked their future schedules. I would have foregone a home FCS opponent for a 1 shot money game in Lexington with the chance of walking away with the $$$ and a "V". A win might have put a kink in UK's new FB pipeline into NW Ohio.

And Louisville drew over 50,000 for a game against Murray State last season. And they play in a power conference. Human and computer rankings don't tell much when it comes to scheduling, especially comparing a power conference to the MAC.

I'm all for getting Louisville on the schedule, even in a 2-1 scenario. But there are a lot of obstacles.

Yes. I would gladly take a 1 and done with a Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

...and UAB is bringing football back. Nice planning on their part - or has that also changed in the past couple of weeks?

The only recent change in the UAB situation was that they confirmed what had been widely speculated; the program will play again in 2017 and not in 2016 as the school originally announced. Also, they're building the non-conference schedule from scratch for 2017 and beyond.
