I have personal knowledge of how UCF acts. It's not flattering.

For example, the student cheer group at UCF circulates a flyer on how to taunt opposing teams and their fans. When we played basketball there a few years ago, the UH flyer depicted a friend of mine's wife (who attended the game) in pornographic situations with one of our players. They were on her all game long.

We took it up with the league office.

So don't even try to lecture anyone about "class," UCF.

Wow. First, our students haven't had the balls to do something like that in over a decade. Their biggest thing now is to yell "ballin" after free throws which is a reference to some rap song that no one remembers but the pep band kept alive.

Second, even if they were that funny, and I wish they were, your story has some holes. You have a buddy who attends so the road games, with his wife, and our students knew this and prepared for it in the way you describe. WTF does the mean? And why the heck are you and your friend sitting in normal seats if they re that high profile. MJ always got a skybox at UCF games, even on the road.

Being hit with frozen water balloons was fun while touring UCF. I think it is due to the relative newness of the university. There aren't old farts like me reigning in the younger generation like I do at SMU games.

Seriously UCF, I like you, but I know quite a few people that don't go to your home games due to the abuse your fanbase gives the traveling fans.

Good point Attackcoog

I like the fact that the non contact sport games are building heat, can't wait to see what football the contact games will bring.

Go Coogs

Huh? Same thing it always brings.

UCF fans swear they arent rude and obnoxious, but yet everyone who goes there says the opposite:

byu fans who came to UCF this year ( http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message...d=13110742 )

or how you guys swore okorn was some bad seed, but when you watched the tape you can clearly hear the ucf fans cursing him out in unison before any incident (and thats just what you could hear)..or that anyone who has been around okorn for more than 5mins knows he's a super Christian, super charity way too nice guy.

or how keevan lucas from tulsa was basically about to fight some ucf fans during the game last year...

you guys should just embrace, there is obviously a section of your fan base (some not all) that takes it beyond where it needs to go

RE: Houston baseball coaches son
The thread has gone off the rails to now deflect everything on how UCF acts at football games. The point was to point out how one of the Houston coaches (the one that acted like a child at a game this year) has an mlb player son making 10 million this year and making unnecessary comments about UCF.

As far as UCF football fans, I consider it a true home field advantage. I hope we get more obnoxious and make each and every opposing fan want to stay home.

Did you even read the byu posts. You had a couple of guys trolling and the rest saying they were treated well. I was next to the byu section for that game and nobody treated them poorly. In fact most were thanking them for coming after the game.

clearly not everyone is going to have a bad experience but someone found it important enough to post about it and atleast 4 in that thread agreed..and the only trolling in that thread were people who had a decent time trying to get them to relax

if you click on the threads links which expand on some of the comments some of them were saying they were hearing F__ Byu chants walking in and walking out...and alot calling their religion a cult...

Seriously UCF, I like you,

My personal belief is that's obvious to most on this board. Most here have tolerance, patience and even enjoy seeing the exuberance. The only thing missing is "having been there" for really big wins and really, really disappointing long stretches of seasons. That tends to mellow out a portion of the fanbase to balance out that (sometimes arrogant, yet naive) youthful exuberance.

I agree with your (abbreviated by me) last comment regarding liking UCF/UCF fans. Every program in our conference has good fans......some have more than others. :)

The younger generation amounts to 10-50 new SMU fans who actually show up and attend a SMU football games?

Maybe you were referring to basketball at Moody?

Still 7,000 more than show up for Tubby and Coach Cool is losing luster

So--- who do you actually police? Moody isn't that big and Ford is filled with P5 Texas schools who sell the stadium out.

Speak "engrish" this time so we can understand you correctly
