I'm not so sure of what they bring unless Horizon really needed team #10 and NKU is close to Cincy, so that isn't bad...

Wasn't the Horizon going to add them a few years ago but then rejected them on the grounds that their new arena was too nice and would give them too big of an advantage?

Are they expecting to lose a team soon?

Unless my math failed me, they were at 9 teams. Was Oakland #9?

Needed to pick up #10?

Only rumors that MVC might be looking to add 2 teams.

That was the OVC reasoning. The OVC has been known to take DII schools, while the Horizon won't. NKU should be eligible shortly, so the Horizon was interested.

They lose Butler & Loyola and replace with 2 larger Hoops only public universities (Oakland & NKU) that bolster their presence in a large hoops recruiting area (Detroit) and expand their footprint into Kentucky & Ohio where they already have Cleveland State, Youngstown State & Wright State. A solid addition
