yeah but Temple needs a spot for the 2018 season...time is starting to run out. Will the conference be OK with Franklin Field for a couple of years?

2018 is the anticipated opening for the OCS.

Based on what? Any design drawings? Land purchased?

Internal and external sources. I believe they're working on designs. The land is Geasey Field, where our on campus olympic sports are. They are being moved elsewhere.

how do you fund raise when you don't even release any drawings... I hope Temple builds an OCS...but I don't think it is happening. I have yet to see, read or listen to any tangible proof.

The people who will pay the lion share of the donations know and have likely seen drawings. Things are different in big cities. There are real estate speculators that will drive up the cost surrounding land you may want to purchase. You have poiticians and neighborhood groups who have nothing better to do than to create red tape once they find out what's going on. So you want to have all your ducks in a row before you have a drawing on the front page of the sports section and running on your local 6 pm news.

If Temple is going to build here - and they wanted it on the same N/S angle as the Linc - they would place the stadium on an angle so it covered Geasey field, 15th street and what they could of the tennis courts block.

I think Penn's Franklin field is on a more severe angle. But really, it's whatever fits best.

They've already demolished most or all of the rowhomes they owned along Broad in this block. And the plan is set to move the other sports facilities down Broad street to a closed high school campus.

The BB arena is right in this location with a parking garage. Major subway stop a few blocks away.

Are you saying that Temple's Board of Trustees has already approved of said stadium renderings (and any and all environmental regulations and city/county permits have been approved), all of which would be open to public access laws...yet no one in the media or public has seen any and all of the above measures?

Can't recall any recent college stadium built over the last 10 years that was designed/approved/permitted in secret, even at private institutions.

And yes, I really do hope Temple can get out of the Eagles Stadium and get their own on-campus stadium soon.

Temple would constantly be one of the top programs in the American with an OCS. I just don't beleive it will ever happen.

Temple needs to get an on campus stadium, show they are committed to football or drop the sport and stop wasting our time

I will thoroughly enjoy it when other AAC schools are invited to a P5 conference and the bearcats are still sitting in the AAC. UC fans act like they are so far above everyone else. Since joining the big east in 2005 and now the American they have only won 2 outright conference championships in football and have yet to win an outright conference title in basketball in either the big east or the American.

I remember when this conference was announced and UC fans said this would be a cake walk and they would roll over everyone and their only competition would be UConn in basketball.

We won the AAC reg season in basketball in the AAC first year.

Shared it with Louisville. Got the 1 seed for the conf. tourney on a coin flip.

Shared or not we won the reg season AAC that year.

Bottom line...your're wrong and in your intellectual dishonesty you are trying to spin this in your favor. We have shared titles in both football and basketball in the AAC.

Further, since you brought it up, we may not have won the Big East in hoops but we did win it outright multiple times in football.

We are also one of five programs that have sent both football to a bowl and hoops to the ncaa in the same year, five years in a row.

You have failed in your attempt to belittle UC.

Really you lost all credibility when you suggested all the AAC teams but UC will move on the the P5.

You're funny.

Get real, UC has the best overall athletics in the conference. If everyone was at their level, we wouldn't all collectively be in the mess we are right now.
