Who remembers this game against EMU? Fog was as thick as ever. I can't seem to recall seeing anything like this since then, but correct me if something more out of the ordinary has happened in a game.

RE: Throwback Thursday - The Fog Game
Wasn't there a foggy game vs NIU in the 2000s?

Yep and one in the 80s maybe? Where UT scored a couple quick TDs and the smoke from the cannon just staid on the field with the fog. Game was stopped and Toledo players went out with towels and waved them around to push the smoke out of the way. Don't recall the opponent. The NIU game was pretty much a waste from a spectator standpoint as well.

Beier's best call ever was at this EMU fog game.....

By the North East Blockhouse in the end zone.

A long pass.......

"The crowd's cheering!!!! I think Toledo just scored a Touchdown!!!!!!"

The lower bowl fans were below the fog, but he was up above it.
He couldn't see the play from the 3rd floor press tower ............

That game must have been 2002. I gave my tickets to a friend for that game. I was building my pole barn. Best game I never could have watched

RE: Throwback Thursday - The Fog Game
I didn't realize how bad the fog was at that EMU game until I walked into stadium and saw the stadium lights shining on it. I remember at the end of the first quarter a couple of guys in front of us walked out and said they were going home "to watch the game on the radio". As I recall by the second half the fog lifted a bit and was not so dense but what, unlike much of the first half, you could see the entire field thru it.

I can't remember what year it was, but there was this one game where we played Northern Illinois, and we won.

There was a foggy game vs EMU or OU in 1993 as well.

That may be the one to which I referred.

Check Winsipedia comparison. You'll feel much better. No recent success but overall it isn't close.

I was at that game (the NIU one), I think it was 2006. I could mostly see one half of the field, but once they got past midfield I couldn't see what was happening. I'm sure the guys in the pressbox could see even less.
