Why?
I wouldn't give it to Birmingham when this could be your last year in the conference.
Memphis and I believe Tulsa got it their last year in CUSA.

Different situations totally. Memphis had the we are leaving flag up for years. And they did not get it their last year. It was awared elsewhere. Tulsa sat on any announcment until after they hosted. Memphis last year the tourney was either in tulsa or el paso

WAC is there as well.

Are you saying Tech fans aren't getting there way next year and having the #1 seed get it?

Neither Memphis or Tulsa hosted in their last year. Memphis announced they would be leaving for the AAC and the tournament was moved to Tulsa. Tulsa did not announce they would be leaving to the AAC until after they hosted the tournament. Tulsa participated and won the tournament in El Paso, which was their last year in CUSA.

My opinion is if you aren't bringing back football...and we aren't going to keep your non-football sports, you should be out before basketball season. Not that you are guaranteed the top seed or that I ever said the top seed should host. I don't think a team leaving the conference should have any shot at our autobid..much less get to host.

Well considering UAB is a charter member and La Tech is a newbie, as long as we're in CUSA UAB will be afforded the opportunity to host the tourney again and get the autobid.

Thats not going to fly with the other ADs, charter member or not. I dont think UAB will even be considered as far as hosting.

biloxi is not being considered at this time. We did submit bids. As far as the clarion liar. They are just telling the truth. We have barrier islands and that prevents the good waves from coming in and cleaning up the beaches.

And we are still in the conference, so quit being a dick. Everything will be sorted out in time, but quit acting like we aren't a part of a conference that we pretty much voted every current school into.

You're the one resorting to profanity and name calling. If you are not bringing football back you are leaving the conference. If you are leaving the conference you shouldn't have the benefit of hosting the tournament and an inside track to our only autobid on your way out the door. Either way I won't go to birmingham two years in a row.

Right now, I couldn't care less where the tournament is. I'm tired of all the shots at UAB lately. We are well aware of the current situation, and we are doing everything we can to rectify it. Having fellow conference mates act like we aren't in the league is bullcrap. Like I said, until we hear otherwise, we are a part of the league. You don't make that call. I don't make that call. The people who do haven't officially made it yet.

I haven't heard anything about UAB hosting. They took a tournament away from a leaving team, so I doubt they would award it to Birmingham.

What i know is this. Bids have already been submitted and gone thru once. We bid on hosting in biloxi. Some sites have been cut already and we were one of them. There is a short list of sites being considered and i know two of them. The Smoothie king center in New orleans and UAB. If you guys are in the league next year and i dont see any reason you wont be for the coming year. You have a good shot at hosting again.

I'm no biologist, but I gotta think the freakishly ridiculous amount of rain lately probably factors in, too. That's a enormous amount of inland runoff getting dumped into the Sound in a relatively short period of time.
