For a bowl, perhaps not . . . . But if you ever come to see your Eagles in San Marcos, Austin's just 35 miles up the road . . . .

No order IMO. Just set it up for the most competitive games first ie say a SB champ/MAC champ, then geographically most sensible next.

There has never been an order. Until a few years ago there was...but Bowls and the league pretty much work together here. Though New Orleans and Go Daddy are going to get who they want as the more established bowls.

Not only are the women gorgeous, but we've got an actual crystal clear spring fed river running through campus . . . . Not a muddy crik . . 04-cheers

Women in Austin aren't too shabby either . . .

Well I certainly like our list of bowls better than some other G5 conferences. All 5 of ours are in our footprint and there are teams who are a good possibility of being bowl eligible fairly close to every one of them.

It is nice to know that of our 5 bowl ties, the farthest I would ever have to travel is Orlando...which is a pretty awesome destination either way.

Amen brother. Now what's needed is for Sunbelt fans to break attendance records year after year.

I'm glad to hear we've now got 5 bowl tie ins but I can't help but think that with the AAC/SBC tie in with the Austin bowl, that really derailed the LR Bowl attempt

. . Sorry for LR, but Austin's a Great Town to party in . . . . Weather for this bowl should be great, and 6th street will be jumpin'. Can't imagine anyone not having a great time in Austin . .. .

Yup. Agreed. Even a trip that far can be bearable. Orlando has a few fun things to do here and there.

You Texans aren't tired of 6th street yet? I go to Austin 1-2 times a year, and I've been down 6th maybe 2 or 3 times. I was never that crazy about it.
My old band used to play shows on Red River (yes, near 6th, I know), but I always enjoyed the places off of there instead of 6th.

I'll be your date. When we get football back and make the bowl, I'll let ya return the favor in 2028.

Pony94, whats the story on it maybe being played in a minor league baseball stadium? If they are talking about the stadium in Round Rock (11K capacity), it would seem that Bobcat Stadium would make a lot more sense. Its the perfect size (30K) and as it is designed for football, it would have way more seats between the 20's.

There are no minor league baseball stadiums in Austin. UT may think they are but, in reality, they aren't. 05-stirthepot
None of the HS stadiums is big enough. The RRISD one is nice but capacity is no where close to what they would need.
I really think DKR is way too big for an SBC/AAC match-up; which leaves BCS. Maybe that would be enough to finish the upgrades if it went over capacity a few years in a row. At least finish horseshoeing it in.
If it is DKR, maybe after a few years they'll realize it is too big and move it, say, 35 miles down the road. 04-cheers

Not sure of my Texas Geography, but Frisco hosts the 1AA title game every year. Might be a place to stash a game for the time being.

Austin Bowl. Frisco is over 200 miles from Austin and too close to Dallas/Ft Worth
