Some of the more knowledgeable softball fans can probably weigh in but it there a chance for a 3rd Belt team to make the NCAA regionals?

Not unless someone pulls an upset in the tournament and it's set up so that that possibility is slim.

So you're saying there is a chance

USA and UL are in.
GaSt will be interesting. Playing Georgia Southern will hurt their RPI ranking of #43, but if they win and play Troy, and then win that one and play us, then those two games could be beneficial to their RPI. At #43 you're a bubble team. If they fall further than that, they're in big trouble. Go higher and you're giving yourself a better shot. Last year there were three teams in the 40's in RPI at selection time that got at large bids, UAB at #40, Houston at #47, and Virginia Tech at #48. I believe the rest that were in the 40's and got in at the time had won their conference tourneys and received an autobid (Long Beach St-42, Louisville-43, NDSU-44, SDSU-45).
Every other S-B-C team outside of the three I mentioned need to win the tourney to get in.
So in short, yes there is a chance we get three in regionals.

I just don't know that GSU can get in without winning the tournament. That will be pretty interesting. They've played a lot of good teams, but they haven't won the games. That has inflated their RPI, but will the committee reward them for the schedule, or will the losses be too much? They are a bubble team, but I would be worried about this if I were a Panther fan:

GSU Record versus top 25 RPI: 0-10
GSU Record versus top 50 RPI: 1-13

Didn't look at the record against top 25/50. You may be right. They may very well be left out. The committee will use that as an excuse to do so.

Ok, I've taken a little more comprehensive look at Georgia State's opponents for an at large bid, and I'll have to relax my "no chance" stance. They will be in the discussion, but they will need a near perfect storm to land on the "included" side of the bubble. And, I suspect, they will probably need to beat the Cajuns or Jaguars to have a legitimate chance of getting in the field.
