Louisville kicking arse and taking names at the golf...
championship...

The men are blowing out the field if the ladies can surge past ND.

After 2 of 3 rounds for both tournaments:

Men @ the University Cardinal Club
-14 Louisville
+2 Notre Dame
+8 Marquette
+9 DePaul
+10 St John's
+27 Seton Hall
+30 Villanova
+32 UConn
+32 Georgetown
+33 USF
+36 UC
+53 Rutgers

I'm feeling pretty safe for the title here!

Women @ Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville
+18 Notre Dame
+21 UofL
+40 USF
+52 Georgetown
+56 UC
+66 St John's
+111 Rutgers

Two team race here.

With Rutgers athletic dept. chopping down Olympic sports teams faster than the football team can chop wood, I have to wonder if the golf teams have much life left! Perhaps they already quit giving scholarships? What's the word Scarlet Knight fans, are these programs just bad or are they on the way out.

Louisville men run away with team title. FOUR of the 5 golfers end up on the All Big East 1st Team (read: top 10 finishers in the Big East Championship). The Fathauer twins finish 1st and T-3rd while Adam Rainaud (T-3rd) and Adam Hadwin (T-5) give UofL four All Big East honorees.

Notre Dame also landed three on All Big East while Marquette, St. John's, and DePaul each get one player.

The UofL women have pulled even with the Notre Dame women going to the back nine of their tournament.

Looks like UC finished very strong today with a -4 284. Quite a change from the first 2 rounds for them.

I would be interested to see how many times UofL and No Shame have finished 1 and 2 in conference sports since we joined. It always seems like we are playing each other for championships.

Well you can add the women's golf tourney to that list, Mike. Louisville wins the team title on a sudden death playoff and Cindy Lacrosse and Adrienne White go 1-2 for UofL in the individual competition.

A clean sweep of all the golf titles for Louisville this year!!! 04-bow

This year is unfolding like last year. Notre Dame and Louisville lead the Big East by a mile in overall sports finishes.

Final Results:

Men
-20 Louisville
-8 Notre Dame
+7 St John's
+8 Marquette
+15 DePaul
+32 UC
+32 UConn
+35 Georgetown
+42 Seton Hall
+42 Villanova
+57 USF
+64 Rutgers

Women
+27 UofL- Won playoff
+27 Notre Dame
+52 USF
+67 Georgetown
+75 UC
+95 St John's
+170 Rutgers

And 3601, I don't know what your handicap is but I checked out the bottom scores for you. All but 3 men individuals averaged a 78 or under. The bottom guys averaged an 80 and two 83's. While bad for someone earning college $$ for the sport, the total scores had me expecting higher ind. scores than that! Fore!
