Dunno if you guys know or not....
But Craig Mager (Texas State CB) got drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the third round with the 83rd pick.

Mel Kiper says (and I quote): This guy will be a factor for the defense of the Chargers.

(I just wanted to have 4 different threads on this! HA!)

I'm sure Cat Mom will clean up the multiple threads and issue some stern warnings!

I deleted mine. I suck at merging so someone else can have that honor.

RE: TXST's Craig Mager Drafted
Fairly certain that's our highest pick ever. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope. According to a website, it's our fourth highest draft position.

I can think of the following off the top of my head

Sanders - went to USFL
Novak - 7th rd
Evans - 7th rd
Rivers - UDFA
Wynn - 6th rd

All our media are saying highest and I'm not finding what you are referencing so a link would be appreciated.

RE: NFL Draft
According to http://www.databasefootball.com , he is not the highest drafted player (no clue if that's legit though):

Reece Morrison - RB, picked Round 3, pick 11 of the 1968 draft
Jim Stienke - DB, picked Round 2, Pick 21 of the 1973 draft
Bobby Watkins - DB, picked Round 2, pick 15 of the 1982 draft

But I will say that website doesn't have Joplo Bartu on it (they split between SWT & Texas State), so the site might not be the best source.

EDIT: I know you said it was off the top of your head, but don't forget Derrick Vaughn! 7th round to the Falcons in 2000.

Thanks. I just saw a correction that said he was the highest since Watkins. Now if anyone wanted to get picky, he's the highest since the last name change. 04-rock

(and it's Darrick)

RE: NFL Draft
I think Mayo and Orakpo might both get their names called on day 3, so many LB's off the board already.

Mayo in the 5th round...much higher than I would have thought. He will be learning behind one of the best, Luke Kuechly.
