Remember when ULL fans told us last year they would treat our field as a launching pad?
Whoever said that didn't know what they were talking about. I was very worried about today's game because we haven't been hitting the ball. UNO outhit the Cajuns 10-4 on Wednesday.
The Cajuns lost every hitter but one, Trahan, to the Pros from last years team. So whoever said that last year had no clue what kind of hitting team the Cajuns would have this year.
This years team is a different animal than last years dream team. Like D1 Baseball.com magazine put it about last years team in a feature article about Blake Trahan, a player back from last year, that they would go down in history as the best team in College Baseball to not make it to the CWS.

QUOTE "The Cajuns losing several key cogs from a team that finished last season with a 58-10 overall record, and
going down in history as one of the best teams ever not to reach the College World Series, Trahan has had to tweak his role on this team just a bit. The Cajuns, thanks to the loss of Austin Robichaux and Carson Baranik, among others, have a trio of freshmen starting pitchers, and
the offense certainly isn’t as explosive without Jace Conrad, Caleb Adams, Ryan Leonards, Seth Harrison, and others. Last year’s Cajuns lineup finished with a .317 batting average, and that was with the old balls. By comparison, this year’s lineup does have some pop with Stefan Trosclair and others leading the way, but sits at a .282 batting average with just a month left to the regular season."
