A lot of UTSA fans want Louisiana in CUSA, and I am one of them.

Why? Don't y'all have enough teams pounding on you as it is?

I am a huge proponent of James Madison going to CUSA. I think the Duke's would make a fine 14th member.

Don't see something like that happening any time soon but I like how you think.04-cheers

To give credit where it's due, they did take the baseball series from us earlier in the season.

That is correct, the problem is the MVC doesn't think the increase travel cost for their most northern members is worth taking UAB it this time. I have heard the Atlantic Sun Conference is another option.

They don't need to be voted out. The bylaws say to remain a member in good standing, each university must offer a football program. No football? Then you just forfeited your membership. It's really that simple.

The only vote to be taken is how long they'll have to move their furniture and stuff.

The word is through 2016. But that still has to be voted on.

I'd like it also; but for selfish reasons as much as any. Get to see my Cajuns more, and the fun "in-house" rivalry. Would be fun to get after it with the kids (daughter, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law) all graduated from UTSA. I already go to a few games with them. And we could teach you young runners a thing or two about tailgaiting! LOL 04-cheers

They are on pins and needles wondering why we haven't invited them yet.

Didn't the Belt supposedly make a run at UAB & USM after C-USA lost the big group of teams?

Actually it was ahead of the big AAC raid that inquiries were made to USM and UAB.

If USM would ever make the change to the Belt they'd catch holy hell for doing so.....at least under current conditions.

It could easily trigger realigning into geographically sensible leagues (and a new name for the Belt) but I've seen nothing that makes me think USM would have the vision to lead that.

Yeah, I'd think it would take several years of the Belt having established itself as an unqeustionable superior to C-USA in football before a program like USM's would even consider it. I honestly believe that a realigning into georgraphically sensible leagues (and sensible rivalries) will eventually come about, likely tirggered by economic realities, but don't have a clue when that might be.
