23-5, top 20, 1st in SEC.
I'd say Mike White is doing okay in year 2.
Great thread.

Also shows why you don't have to go after a "name" coach like we did. A lot of people criticized this hire. Worked out great for Florida.

I really believe you try to make a point but you fail on how to communicate a lot of the time.

Tell me what I failed to communicate. I suspect I didn't communicate what you wanted to hear.

Nope. You don't got to pump sunshine but you are way off on your post. If you would try so hard everytime to repeat yourself you might have something of substance

I just don't understand why some people are jumping Tubby in his first year. Not like he inherited a top 25 roster and drove it into the ground.

Partly because many were already short on patience. (Opie hangover.)
Partly because he didn't appear to make a big push to shore up this year's roster.
The 2017 recruiting class isn't highly rated. It's not awful but it certainly doesn't appear to be stellar. A stellar class would have provided a big boost of hope.
Some wanted a different hire.
For as much coaching experience as he has, he's made several head scratching decisions.
Somehow,He lost to Temple, twice.
The good news for Tubby is that he's got 3-4 years to prove it on the court. If he gets to the NIT this year and into the NCAA next year and then advances in the NCAA the following year with most of his core players returning intact there will be very little complaining......

IMO they need to do the same thing with hoops that they are doing in football. Young up and comers. Except instead of a hot assistant it can be a good mid major coach. You for sure wouldn't have to pay 3 mil a year. But oh well it's not my money. Maybe Tubby will surprise us and bring in a great class in 2018.

Are you saying he has 3-4 years to prove it because of lack of money to buy him out if needed and fan apathy which go hand in hand?

He should be able to compete in the American for top spot with how he currently recruits. We have a better class than Cincy and they are one of the two top dogs on this conference. The only team that recruits at a consistent top 25 level is UConn and Ollie seems to not be able to maximize that talent.
If you are going to have gripe, it will be in the Big Dance once the roster is in order and he can schedule away from the cupcakes Josh loaded us up with on the schedule. The main concern is if Tubby can advance us deep. He will make the dance in the AAC with the caliber of players he is recruiting.
We will see. UC and SMU don't exactly set the world on fire with their average recruiting classes. They find guys that work in their system though. That was Pastner's downfall here loading the roster with guys that don't fit what you need them to do. He particle kept sticking a cube block in a hole design for a circle.

So it was I didn't communicate what you wanted to hear. Recuperating today has kept me on IPad and watching a lot of CBB. If you look at my posts today, I think they are varied, some informative, some opinions, some facts, some questions. Not repeating myself for sure.

Way off again. You definitely repeat yourself no matter how many times you reformat it. The message is always the same. You would be more interesting if you said something new.

Time will tell. Meanwhile, we might need to move games to Fieldhouse if attendance keeps plummeting. According to my Tiger media guide ( I have all the printed ones back to '81 season-don't want electronic garbage), we are at the lowest % of capacity since either 69-70 at Coliseum or 94-95,at Pyramid which I'm pretty certain was butts in the seat.
That is on Josh and to a lesser extent Tubby's unwillingness to do any REAL PROMOTION.

Tubby is just like Feunte. He wants his results to win you over. He is going to build the program his way and nobody is going to change his mind

I agree with this statement. The problem with much of the fan base is they want to be lied to and fluffed. Like a young woman at a bar they want to believe the lie about the guy they are going home with to make themselves feel better. They don't want to hear about how the guy works at taco bell, it is the law student they are bedding. The fan base wants a coach that will sell them (lie) to them, not the coach that tells them it will take time.
