What if the Sun Belt changed our name? Do you think a better name would help at all with the perception of our conference? I'm thinking bring back the South West Conference. Keep our current Sun logo and just change the name. Or choose a name that would put us at the top in alphabetical order? Thoughts?

Someone probably still owns the rights to the SWC. Not sure a ne change accomplishes anything.

Why would we name the conference the South West Conference, when this conference is primarily in the Southeast?

Hell, if we are doing that, why not name the conference the "Arctic Circle Conference" so we can be up at the top of the lists?

I like it. Disney has Disney Jr. There's Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. We should corner the market on SEC Jr. My 4 year old watches the other 2 Jr channels, so maybe he'll finally watch a game with me.

If you are going to do this you could go with something like resurrecting the American South Conference.

Personally I like the Sun Belt name but if we want to be honest we should call ourselves the 'Red Headed Step Child Conference'

Changing the name will do nothing but hurt our image more

I hate the Sun Belt name, and I don't think that changing it would necessarily hurt the conference (if said name change coincided with a REALLY good season for the conference).

But I can't think of a better, more appropriate name. Maybe the "National Conference" then we can for football brand ourselves as the NFC, for Baseball, be the NL, and for basketball... Well, we can play basketball. (yes, this suggestion is made purely in jest).

Here are few I picked up just from reading this board over the years:

(ESC) Everyone Struggles Conference
(YSKYPC) You Should Know Your Place Conference
(I.F.) If we wouldn't have given up some many yards________
(NRC) Not Relevant Conference(Mostly reserved for GS fans)
(NDC) No Depth Conference (still mostly reserved for GS fans)
(BBC) "This is a" Basketball Conference(Until GS does well..then)
(BC) "This is a" Baseball Conference(again until GS does well..then)
(SB) "This is a" Softball Conference (with a total of 2 good teams)
(LCC) Lacking Confidence Conference. This is where all members of a conference lack the ability to see farther that what's in front of them hence never expecting their team to win but berating those that do.
Let's not for get about the ( You Didn't Play UL or ArkSt Conference) and GS fans response, they didn't play us either.

Personally I like the Sun Belt Conference, lol.
