But how many THINK they are good enough and how many are actually good enough. Too many kids blowing a chance of making something of themselves because they THINK they are good enough and do not apply themselves to academics.

So what, let the kids go directly to the NBA and if they fail, they fail. It's a "Life Lesson" that will be very valuable to them in the future. I mean, how many people are we talking about. I would guess it is less than 100 kids a year that would try. No big loss in the big scheme of things.

Leave college to the actual students? What a concept. Nope won't work.

Agree. Get as many young kids into college as we can-- including those who want to develop physically. So what if they want to put most of their eggs in the sports basket.

A year's worth of crap referring to Memphis and our coaches with every possible piece of crap...including lovable loser, earns a little sensitivity.

Not that many. People act like before the one and done rule it was like 100s of high school kids trying to go pro every year. And more so than not they were successful. The high school "bust" list is really small and they still made more money than most humans will make in their lifetime. It's all a big joke and people only care about it when its basketball and football players. And you can always go back to school you cant always get your health back from a major injury.

Eliminating waivers and making grad students sit out a year would "cut this thing by two-thirds," he added.

That's funny reading from Calipari...a Coach that deals with kids who basically spend one semester in college.

I guess you don't realize THE NBA (not the NCAA) is the organization, through collective bargaining, that has put the age limit in place.

There is nothing the NCAA can do about that.

The NCAA can address the grad transfer issue, which has turned into a joke of a process. And...get this...Cal is a coach in the NCAA and was asked a question about the issue.

It's amazing how many people don't get that. Even some in the media blame the NCAA for the one and done rule. The NCAA is to blame for a bunch of stuff, but that ain't one of them
