O.D.O.T.
So, saw a report on WTOL-11 this morning that O.D.O.T. is looking for groups to volunteer to help keep the highways clean from litter. Thought a group of us Rockets could volunteer to clean up the stretch of I-75 in front of the school down south. Imagine signs stating that the "Toledo Rockets Fan Club" is responsible for keeping that area of the interstate clean. We could all wear midnight blue and gold on our clean up days. Who's in?

I presume we all will need HAZMAT clearances of some sort.

Im in. On the way to Nashville yesterday i saw people out picking up trash and there was a bag full of garbage about once every 30-50 feet it seemed like. I was happy to see them out cleaning. Litter makes me more upset than almost anything in life.

RE: O.D.O.T.
Quote:Thanks for your interest. There are plenty of areas still available for adoption. This program will cost your group nothing except their time. It is a 2 year commitment. We ask your group to adopt a 2-mile stretch of highway, clean up the litter 3 to 4 times per year. We will provide the trash bags, safety vests and safety signage. For keeping your area litter-free, you will get your groups name on the adopt-a-highway signs in this 2 mile stretch. If this sounds like something, you are still interested in, please send me your address and I will mail you an application packet OR you can visit http://www.dot.state.oh.us/Divisions/Hig...ghway.aspx to print and complete the application and just mail it to me at ODOT, 317 E. Poe Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402. Thanks!

Looking forward to adding your group to those that are helping to keep our travelways litter free.

Does anyone recollect the two miles of I-75 that would cover our requested area? If not I'll take a little drive...

RE: O.D.O.T.
I don't mind getting my hands dirt with a little garbage cleanup.
But the smell, and I am meaning this quite literally, is absolutely overwhelming at approximately 1000-1500 feet point before that exit.
Whatever industrial operation that is smells horribly.

Living in the Fort Meigs area, I am also in fairly close proximity to the smell. Some days are worse, depending on wind velocity and direction.03-phew
