I was simply stating that I'm not sure why Marshall is lumped into the same boat as UMASS, especially coming from a USF fan.

I'm not here to argue Marshall's greatness or that we belong in the AAC.

Just to defend my school that we are NOT in the same boat as a UMASS.

No worries bro. Know this: Every school is different. Every school has a different set of unique qualities... student body, market, proximity to current members, football history, endowment, research, Olympic sports, stadium situation... all different. Here, since it's an AAC board, you will hear discussion of non-member schools in this context: as expansion candidates. And obviously, it's a just message board so there is a bit of nonsense and baiting thrown in.

Understandable. I read most of these boards daily, just rarely post unless it is on the CUSA board, mainly for the reasons already stated here.

This will be my last post, as I don't want to be "that" guy.

Just to me, UMASS is one of the least respected FBS programs out there, so to see us compared and lumped in with them struck a nerve with me.

Have a good day guys, and just know that this Marshall fan respects the majority of the AAC.

Hey pumpkin, play a schedule that has a SOS not in the bottom of the entire FBS and then come tell me how awesome you are.

You play in the AAC I seriously doubt you do any better. Its easy to beat up on the worst teams in all of football and call yourself a giant.

The next time Marshal wins AT Notre Dame, FSU, Miami, Clemson, Auburn, UNC, NC State, TCU, Pitt, WVU, Lville,..... and many others then you can come here and open your pie hole.

The absolute truth is Marshal isnt ****. Your the king of the suck. Being the second best team in the hillbilly state doesnt give you any standing.

Funny thing is, USF has more P5/AQ wins over the past 15 years then Marshall. So yes, you may have a better record but when looking at who its against then nobody is giving you any respect....

but lets look at one thing and one thing only.... Little ole USF got invited to the Big East and is in the AAC and Marshall is dreaming of getting where we already are. So before you run your mouth, how about you accomplish something first.

Actually, Marshall has multiple wins against teams in that list since your program has existed. Actually, this is list does prove a point... We can't win AT those place because in the next three year, Louisivlle, NC State, and Pitt all play in Huntington.

and I cant wait to see the outcome. It will be nice to finally see Marshall play someone that isnt a complete cupcake. I personally am predicting you go 0-3

and I went back all the way to 2003, which was the beginning of USF being a Division 1 team and the only team on that list you actually beat was Lousiville, in the year which was their very worst. Congrats. So anytime you want to compare our two programs over the length of our existance, then I would be happy to, because honestly if we had been playing the exact same opponents we would be WAY ahead of where your record is.
