Love to see Rockets giving to the community. Of course, in playing for the Browns and Lions they know what hardship means and can sympathies perhaps more completely than say, Tom Brady. 03-wink

Injury bug continues to infect former Rockets, as Barry Church breaks his arm in Bills game: http://www.star-telegram.com/sports/nfl/...10020.html

Story on Brett Kern's season: http://www.scout.com/nfl/titans/story/16...nting-feat
Seems like he's having a season for the records, as far as punters are concerned.

But punters are easily replaceable, especially veterans. Brandon Fields was released by the Dolphins before this season for a rookie, 2 years after making the pro bowl, and his stats have him as a ~top 5 punter ever. But a rookie is paid a lot less than a vet.

RE: Rockets in the NFL/CFL/AFL: 2015
2015 NFL/CFL stats for former Rockets to the best that I can compile. Injuries were bad. Brett Kern was the only Rocket to play in all 16 games this season. Hope I did not miss anyone.

NFL:
Barry Church (Dallas) - 15 games/15 starts: 117 tackles, 1 forced fumble
Jayrone Elliott (Green Bay) - 14 games: 24 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 pass def, 1 int, 1 forced fumble
TJ Fatinikun (Tampa Bay) - 2 games: 2 tackles (On IR since week 5)
David Fluellen (Tennessee) - On practice squad all season
Bruce Gradkowski (Pittsburgh) - On IR all season
John Greco (Cleveland) - 14 games/14 starts (On IR last 2 weeks of season)
Andrew Hawkins (Cleveland) - 8 games/8 starts: 27 catches for 276 yards (On IR since week 12)
Zac Kerin (Minnesota) - 3 games
Brett Kern (Tennessee) - 16 games: 88 punts for 47.4 yard avg, 40.3 net; 34 inside 20
Greg Mancz (Houston) - 3 games (On IR since early in the season)
Lance Moore (Detroit) - 14 games/8 starts: 29 catches for 337 yards and 4 TDs
Junior Sylvestre (Indianapolis) - On IR all season

Oh, and I didn't realize this fellow was still playing:

Travaris Cadet (New England/San Fran/New Orleans) - 7 games/1 start: 11 rush for 28 yards, 17 catches for 214 yards and 1 TD

CFL:
Dan Molls (Hamilton) - unsure as CFL doesn't publish complete stats, but was active for at least a couple games, don't know whether he played or not
Nick Moore (Winnipeg) - 15 games: 76 receptions for 899 yards and 4 TDs
Jermaine Robinson (Ottawa) - 1 game: 2 tackles (Actually, technically I think he played in 2, as I recall he got injured the 1st play of the 1st game of the season)
Kenny Stafford (Edmonton) - 18 games: 47 receptions for 732 yards and 9 TDs, 1 rush for -2 yards

Maybe, but Kern was a free agent this year and the Titans signed him to a 5 year $15M contract. So, at least for the moment, he's doing fine.

Yeah, but if you lose your job what do you do after the $15 mill is gone?

Good for Flu. That is fantastic. I really don't know what that amounts to, but he is sticking in there. 03-wink

Reported that Stafford had a tryout with the Bears yesterday. No word on how it went.

Looks like Jayrone Elliott for Green Bay and Zac Kerin for Minnesota are the only guys from UT that might see action in the NFL wild card games this weekend. Have I overlooked anybody?

You are correct. Although Jayrone has been nursing a quad and not practicing, so not sure whether he will be active or not. Kerin has not seen the field much, but I expect will be active.
