Sun Belt will be a top 3 Conference this year(Blogger)
Blogger"Faced with some very difficult decisions to make after North Texas, Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State bolted for Conference USA, Benson and company hit home runs with the additions of App State and Georgia Southern to the Sun Belt."

He predicts a top 3 G5 Conference finish for the Sun Belt.

It would have been good for all concerned if MTSU and WKU stayed put in the Belt, but if frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their butts.

Which begs the question: IF MTSU and WKU had stayed, would the Belt have still added GA S. and Appy?

Personally, If MTSU and WKU had stayed, and we'd made the 2 adds of Appy and Ga S., The Belt would be MUCHO Strong . . . . .

I just don't know if the Conference Leadership would have pulled the trigger on the newbies if WKU and MTSU had stuck around . . . .

They left at different times. We added App State and GS when WKU was still in the league, which put us at 12.

From a purely fan standpoint (and not a big basketball guy), I really wanted MTSU to stay. WKU didn't kill it for me (and remember WKU fans, I'm not saying you aren't a good department, but for me as a fan, I hadn't heard much of you).

If I had to pick one I'd rather have WKU than MTSU.

We owe C-USA big time for taking that dumpster fire off our hands. The UNTs.

How can two teams in towns with under 30,000 people possibly be any good?

We have 4 teams in towns of under 30K

Idaho (Moscow)
Troy (Troy)
App State (Boone)
Georgia Southern (Statesboro)

Odds are a couple of those are going to be good in a given year.

Few states most populated city also claims their states best football program. Size of the town is irrelevant.

So out of the 10 NCAA D1 conferences, the Sun Belt will be the 7th best at best. Please. The Sun Belt isn't going anywhere. Posts like this are ridiculous.
