2015 Portsmith Invitational
Three MAC players were invited to play in Portsmith this year. Richaun Holmes and Juice Brown are on the same team and will be playing Maurice NDour's team in their first game tomorrow night.

RE: 2015 Portsmith Invitational
The team Holmes and Brown are on are in the final Saturday night 8pm. They are both doing pretty well. Ndour's team lost all 3 games.

Holmes had a big first game with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks in a one point win. He had 11 points, 12 rebounds and a block in the second game.

holmes may have played himself into the draft, was one of the stars of the tourney. juice brown played pretty well and should have some good overseas offers or maybe d league. i like n`dour, but his offense was off in the tourney, had a ton of blocked shots though.

very, very few players who play in the PIT these days get drafted. The best they can hope for is to parlay this into an invite to the NBA combine.

Or an invitation to play on an NBA summer league team.

why? NBA athleticism. enough size. can shoot with some range. been productive in games against good comp. if shayne whittington can go straight to the NBA on a broken leg, I'd think a healthy Holmes has at least as good a shot.

Inconsistent and not as big as Whittington. Still, he may get a shot down the road.

The NBA draft just isn't big enough with only two rounds, especially with all the picks of foreign players recently. Not saying he doesn't have some NBA skills. They're just not worthy enough of investing a pick when they are so precious.

Pono, I think you nailed it.

I'll try to find the online site, but Sports Weekly (?) had a glowing review of him from the NBA combine.

Had all the measurable, 6' 9" in shoes, 9' standing reach, 36" vertical leap.

Had 9 blocks in two days...

played himself into the 2nd round?
